I have had my Kore Trakline X1 Gunbelt and Buckle for about a week.
Here are my first impressions:
First the belt is not as heavy as Beltman. Not surprising. The leather is much thinner so it is not as stiff.
The finish looks good. I will have to see how it holds up.
Second the claim that the belt fits a 24-54 inch waist is a little misleading.
In order to be worn properly, the belt must be trimmed. I had to cut off 14 inches off the end of the belt for it to work properly.
I am not certain, but I think that the trimming would prevent me from returning it for the 30 day return policy.
The belt has 10 inches of track so I don't think I would ever have to buy another belt because of losing or gaining weight.
After trimming the belt I could see the internal structure of the belt.
I noticed that the leather was about 1/16 thick and had a plastic [polyurethane] stiffener between the two layers of leather.
FYI the belt and bucket are made in China.
The buckle is a bit disappointing. The color on the website is more of a pewter color while the actual color is a darker gray.
Not a real big deal. The metal is thin, but seems to do the job.
I wish that the clamp on the trimmed end had a greater purchase on the leather, but I haven't had any issues with it slipping.
The adjustment mechanism takes a little getting used to, but it adjusts easily and stays where it is set.
I hope that doesn't change with use.
I really like the 1/4 inch adjustments. It makes at big difference being able to cinch it up in such "granular" increments.
I was really surprised how much my waist changed throughout the day and from sitting down and getting up and moving around.
I have been using it for pocket carry with my Beretta PX-4 SC and have had no issues.
I believe it will work fine for OWB with my paddle holster, but I haven't tried it yet.
All in all, it's a pretty decent belt. I don't think it will be as durable as the Beltman, but I think it was a good purchase.
Thanks to BulldogBorders and RHenriksen for the lead.
