Are they hoping to cover the lost "income" from the robbery? How much does the average 71 year old man carry, maybe $40 or $50? They should be able to cover that pretty easily.

But age is a valuable "card" when justifying disparity of force.

I'm 57, which isn't old in the strictest sense, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a defense.
