Is it customary or common to change to aftermarket internal operating parts before ever shooting a pistol?

Thanks for all of the great advice. One clear error is that it appears I installed the wrong extended slide stop. I could have sworn that the Brownells listing said they fit all of my models (I think the only excluded one was the G43) so I just bought 4 of the same.

I am thinking that I may take the slide stop back to stock, see if that fixes the issue, then if not, I'll take the connector to stock and see if that works. KInd of backwards, but since I am starting at the end point, it still gets at all the combinations.

And to answer the poster who asked if it was normal to switch out parts before firing a gun, I have no idea. I suppose it depends on your intent for the gun, and whether you bought it with the intent of customization. Either way, I am learning that it may be a good idea to at least test fire the stock gun before changing anything out.

The extended slide stop is a Glock OEM part. You got me with the trigger connector (and night sights on 3 of the 4 guns) though.

Ya'll must have some big gorilla hands. I got some large paws myself and even I don't do that. Though I have a standard really flat one, so not an issue.

Well also factor in that I no longer own any more polymer guns

I recently had issues with failure to extract on my Gen IV G26.
Already updated the ejector to the new Glock p/n, helped some... But now I'm waiting for a new extractor, extractor springs, and spring loaded bearing because I need my carry gun at 100%....
