OK OK and if we're going to TELL ALL ( like Montgomery, a S&W around my neck )

Old Guys can't fight, if I get cornered or down, I need the right equipment to get me loose.

Exactly what I think of them. Tools. Not fashion statements.

				Recommend an affordable fixed blade?

Looking for a fixed-blade replacement for my former rotating EDCs:
Mostly Benchmades (a MiniGriptilian, a Stryker, a 705 McHenry & Williams, and one of the really light and slim Mel Pardue designs--I think it was the 530 or the 3550) and
a Gerber Junior Evo, just because it was dirt-cheap.
I carried folders because local ordinance prohibited fixed blades but allowed folders.
Now I live in a city where local ordinance allows fixed blades but prohibits locking folders.
Something like Craig Douglas' Clinch Pick or Disciple would be nice, but I don't have the budget for his products:
http://www.mdtactical.com/shivworks.htm
Something low-key and vanilla-looking would be good. I don't need my utility knife to scream 'attitude' to people when I'm using it for everyday tasks.
Thanks!
David
