some of whom unboubtably have a built-in inner tube
Seriously though, although I like LT's "Carry 24/7 or guess right", do you really think you are going to be assaulted while tubing? I would be more worried about losing my gun/ID in the river...those tubes rides can get pretty wild...

I'm not going to the lupe river, I'm actually going to more docile water. With my semi anti father and son with me I will probably leave it in the vehicle. Although: I never leave my cell phone and that is the next best thing.

I think he meant my cell. The Brass Monkey ringtone may just distract them enough for me to get away  .

A cell is better than nothing. The idea of someone calling 911 could deter some, or it could just get the ambulance there to save your life. connection to emergnecy services and it has GPS tracking so bog bro knows where I am.

You might want to think about keeping your IDs and CHL dry too!

Most would be too drunk to catch you.
Continue on down the river.

Nope, but:

Well I got the waterproof pack, it worked well although it was large enough only for either the revolver or keys and phone and knife. The firearm stayed in the truck. It was very nice weather and the water is spring-fed so like 68 degrees year round perfect for those hot summer days.
Since the weather was gloomy in the morning the San Marcos river was all but deserted. Didn't go down the falls however, my son is only 6 and did not want to take any chances. No pesky wildlife 2 legged or otherwise.
