46.035 doesn't say the premises have to be owned by the college, it just says "(l) Subsection (b)(2) does not apply on the premises where a collegiate sporting event is taking place if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.". I'll bet the home team would have to post 30.06, even if it was govt owned property.

Well, the teams alternate as 'home" teams in that game so Oklahoma is the home team every other year. Wonder how that would work as far as posting under Texas statutes.

The owner of the stadium would have to post 30.06 notice, whether they are public or private. The "home" team is irrelevant unless they control the property (i.e. part of the campus). Cotton Bowl is owned by City of Dallas. I have no doubt they will post the game Texas/OU game during the Fair.

It can be posted because it's otherwise mentioned under 46.035. But only the Cotton Bowl, not the Fair.
Correct. If a location or event is mentioned in 46.03 or 46.035, it can be posted 30.06 regardless of whether or not the property is owned or leased by a governmental entity.

As I understand it, colleges will now have to give 30.06 notice to prohibit carry at collegiate sporting events, correct?

And that said notice can consist of the 30.06 language printed on your ticket?
Yes, some universities have stated that they'll be printing the 30.06 notice on the backs of tickets rather than posting signs.

Only has to be 1" and in English and Spanish for a SIGN. For a "card or document" it only has to have correct language in English. A ticket probably does meet the requirements of written notice.

You bet it does. We can all be thankful that movie theaters haven't caught this yet.

Gotcha. Yes, I would fully expect the City of Dallas to post the Cotton Bowl, but they haven't been posting the State Fair and we know how creative Dallas is in finding loopholes in the city-owned posting restrictions. So who knows?

I was thinking the home team would have to post since they are "in control" by leasing, just like vendors post when they lease a venue.

But. I think I agree with the assessment of both Scotts now.

Ready for pro sporting events to come out of the penal code. Ready for college discrimination against license holders to come out as well.

NFL will go to the "mat" to keep us out of football games. They even ban cops in every state except Texas from carrying. ATT stadium still physically prevents you from entering non-prohibited events, even though owned by City of Arlington. They will find a way to delay.

I know. But eventually, we will have our day.
I don't go to many pro sporting events, but it would be nice to OC at the rodeo at least.
