Wow...I was in Nice on Bastille Day in 1989 when the US Navy ship I was on was there for port call. If it was 27 years ago those loons might've gotten some US sailors too...
ETA: It's like their 4th of July w/ fireworks and crowds and block parties late into the night...I'm just picturing the big crowds back then and what I'm sure were there now...

Things coming in rapidly.
CNN just reported on Twitter that French President Hollande has said the death toll has risen to 80.
The AFP news agency is saying that identity papers of a French-Tunisian were found in the truck.

The Guardian is showing the death toll at 77, and is saying the truck contained arms and grenades. Both French TV station BFM and local newspaper Nice-Matin are reporting that the driver is a 31-year-old with dual French-Tunisian nationality.
Hollande is holding a press conference now; confirms 77 killed, including children, and 20 are wounded. "France has been struck on the day of her national holiday...the symbol of liberty.... France as a whole is under the threat of Islamic terrorism. We have to demonstrate absolute vigilance and show determination that is unfailing."

Because they have penetrated all of our borders now
This is awful, how do you even stop a truck. The thought of the helplessness really gets to me.

Horrible Horrible situation.
Also be careful on twitter if you happen to peruse there. There are a couple of guys posting EXTREMELY graphic footage of the victims with no warnings. So be careful what you click. Twitter continues to confirm what a cesspool and garbage pit it has become. I need to stop going there.

Early reports described the vehicle as a "white van." Not so. This thing was a sizable box truck; accelerating through densely-packed pedestrians whose attentions were on the fireworks and celebration...no wonder the carnage was so massive. And obviously nothing stopped the driver until law enforcement put a couple of dozen rounds through the windshield:

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve holding press conference; says 80 people are dead, and 18 are in intensive care. “We are at war with terrorists who want to strike us at every cost and who are extremely violent.”

Unfortunately, they and others will continue to get hit over and over again because the spineless jellyfish so called leaders refuse to identify the enemy properly.
These are Islamic Terrorists on a rampage. They define themselves as Islamic, and while not all Muslims are terrorists obviously, all Islamic terrorists are Muslim.
Until the "leadership" takes swift action on this, which I doubt they will, we will continue to watch mangled bodies of young children etc.
The West is dancing the slow dance of death.
To answer a question why we are not doing more about ISIS posed earlier, well...sadly, I believe that they are our factotum army. No rational answer as to why the West is sitting still.
They (Islamic terrorists) have a capital. It's called Raqqa. Nuke the dang place and nuke more if that doesn't do it.

Most of the rest of the world call that a "van". What we call a "van" is typically called a "caravan".

I kept hearing it referred to as a "lorry" sometimes the anchors called it a white truck.
The crowd was described as being shoulder to shoulder. Why would people allow themselves to be in such large crowds and get packed so tightly. I never understood why people will intentionally go into packed venues like professional sports and crowded niightclubs, where they are packed like sardines to get bumped around with strangers.

Fox News reporting an Austin area dad and his 11 year old son were killed in Nice.
So now they are killing our children.
I cannot post the words I want to use.
So very sad.
