Sig239 & Glock19springtx:

I suspect that you guys will both have a status change sometime in the next few days, DPS seems to be crankin' 'em out right now!

I hope you are right! I can't wait for that status to flip and to receive the plastic. We kind of know how long this takes, but every day is torture.

I'm in Houston/Harris county, and it took me just over 30 days to get my license in my mailbox after I sent in the (prepaid) packet. This was from May 8 to June ~12.

Mdek, that's awesome to hear, hopefully we'll get the same speedy service.

My status changed today... to "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent" I don't know how this could be. I went over the check list twice. Everything was there and signed.

Good deal, Sig239, I'm happy your status flipped to "processing."

Glock19, I'd give DPS a call pronto to see what's up, it may be something as simple as forgetting to sign your picture, not signing the app., etc. I would definitely call 'em first thing on Monday.

The only thing I did differently than most people that I know of is that I over nighted my paperwork to the place.

did you ever find out what was wrong with your application glock19?

So if your status changes to application processing than they have already looked through everything, and there will be no problems?

No, I have been in training all week and can't call them. No letter as of today. I will be able to call on Thursday if I don't receive their letter on Wednesday. I'm bummed.

Cheer up, big guy! I'm sure that this is only a hiccup. I suspect that once you've spoken directly with DPS, you'll be able to sort it all out in a reasonable amount of time. We'll all get the plastic eventually, dude!

Of course, if you're actually an escaped convict or a documented sociopath, then I'm afraid that you'll be out of luck! That said, I'm gonna take a guess, and presume that you're a "good citizen." ;-)
