Y'all are going to have a great time. I regularly hit both of the Houston breakfasts, and each one has its own unique character.

Regarding the idea of a shoot afterwards, I really like the idea of keeping the event dedicated to the meet and greet aspect (breakfast only). It avoids the temptation to 'hurry up and finish so we can get to the range' and allows the conversations to develop more fully. Each time is different: some days we talk about nothin but guns, equipment, etc., other days are dedicated to upcoming legislation, and there are days where the topic of guns barely surfaces (and instead we talk about kids, travel, cars, or a movie we saw last week).

My suggestion: keep the breakfast as a breakfast, and use it to plan other (more dynamic) meet-ups, as desired.

I wouldn't mind including that if someone has a place in mind, close by. But it may be more driving than some will want to do.

Alpine range? Purchase a box of their targets,, you can split a box between twork or three, and no charge to use their throwers. Not a skeet course, just a row of spring throwers, but fun. They also have skeet, more expensive, rifle and pistol $12, might be more on weekend.

We've had two or three of our skeet gatherings at Alpine. I'm not opposed to meeting there for another skeet shoot, but I'm not familiar enough with that area to know of any decent nearby eateries.

There are several good eateries in Mansfield near Alpine. Our Place, Joe's, Good Day Cafe if it's decided to have a breakfast and shoot. As Vol Tex suggested you may want to stick to breakfast, discussion and the camaraderie in that setting. You will be surprised how quickly two hours pass.

Especially for our inaugural meet up. We can always make plans for shooting, lunch get-togethers, etc. at the breakfast. I am really getting excited about this, can't wait till the 17th!!

We must remember to tip well, if we tie up several tables for two hours.

I was going to mention, but when my daughter who lives in Mansfield is down here visiting said they had some problems. She said it was good, but had closed to work out some kinks. Too much Smoke in Smokey Mae's from the pits. They have since reopened, but I don't know if they do breakfast. I couldn't find it on the menu. I'll be up there in late June or early July and plan to try it. It's owned by the folks that have many businesses in and around Mansfield, including Marksmen Gun shops and soon to be Marksmen Shooting Range next to the Marksmen on 1187.

Two hours may not be enough time. Just based on some of the posts on here (mine included) we may be a long winded bunch!!

Hold on here everyone. This particular breakfast get together is primarily just that. I only asked the question because I wondered if I'd missed something due to a couple of comments and wanted to know if or what to bring in addition to my appetite and wonderful personality.

I might be able to make this breakfast. I have plans with some members of my high school class that evening, but, since I live near I-20 and 360, it's pretty close by.
