Riding patrol on base here in ND, we break into peoples cars for them when they lock their keys in their car (using a slim jim) and any of us will tell you that a ford truck period is by far the easiest to break in to. The hardest is volvos, my god they are impossible.

Cinemark in Katy IS NOT POSTED!

I've been going there for years. I specifically avoid the AMC inside Katy Mills because the Katy Mills is posted. However, not all entrances are posted, but that's another story.

Let me please clarify so others can learn from my mistake. On Monday, I did not have my CHL yet. Therefore, I was traveling with my pistol under the new state law which says that we can have a concealed loaded gun in our vehicles without a CHL. I should have left it at home but the trip to the movies was a side trip that I had not planned on. Sort of a "let's drive by and see what's playing" thing. I paid a hefty penalty for that one.
I already had ordered 2 bolt in car safes for my truck and the wifes car for those situations where we may be carrying and run ito a 30.06 sign. I could have left my gun at home but chose not to. My mistake! On the bright side, I do have NRA insurance and have already, today, replaced the Glock with another and when I got home my CHL was in the mail box. What a difference a day makes. Still POed about the theives though.

Theater parking lots are notorious for vehicle burglary. I guess they figure you'll be tied up for awhile. I see a lot of vandalism and burglary claims in our shop that happen at a theater. Make sure you have some kind of lock on your pickup tail gates. We used to replace a lot of stolen tailgates and often times they were stolen from the theater. Most trucks have factory locks now so make sure you use them.

Try using other Ford keys. It was an eyeopener for my dad when i opened his ford truck with my mustang key. Wouldnt turn the ignition but did open doors. We do this at work to on company trucks. within 2 or 3 keys you can open most of the doors.

what years of trucks and mustangs are we talking about?

Late eighties-mid nineties. Nothing new. However the Vans at work are mid 90's -03.

My mom's old 2003 Excursion was broken into numerous times.. Those of you with the same sort of locks/door handles beware. They pry the lock off and get in easily..My mom had someone actually remove the lock from the door (there was only one on the drivers side.) She used the keyfob and the number keypad on the door to unlock the doors!

Removing the lock stopped the breakins. I have heard of others with the same problem!

Yea heh we drive Impalas and every once in a while our keys work on other Impalas. Oh and any new car is very very hard to get into, especially with my limited training.

so what kind of vehicle safe would be recommended and where can it be purchased?

I can pop the lock on ANY vehicle, that has that little nob that sticks out of the top of the door, in less than 10 seconds with nothing more than a slim jim.

That is ALL Ford (trucks/cars)and Dodge (trucks/most cars) Chevy (most)
most jap cars/trucks.

The ones that are the most difficult are the European cars. Most of those are impossible without the right tool.

I can get into most any other vehicle in less than 1 minute.

I do it on a daily basis. You should see the looks on my customers faces when they realize just how easy it is.



By the way, for the ones that dont know, I drive a tow truck. It is part of my daily job.

We have several customers that have had us replace the left front door handle on their trucks and suburbans with the handle designed for the left rear door. It doesn't have a lock so it makes it more of a challenge to break in. Just make sure you don't let your key fob battery go dead....

Does anyone have or know about these?

Ugh...I hate thieves...more than any other petty criminal, those piss me off the most.
