The 642 is my wife's. Anyway, of those 5 revolvers, the only one I actually carry is the M&P 340, and that’s mainly my "throw it in my pocket to walk down to the mailbox" gun—but I rarely actually carry it anywhere else. The primary reason I don’t is that I’m just better and faster with a semiauto, especially with reloading. Don’t get me wrong ... I like shooting my revolvers; and if I was going to backpack for an extended period, I’d probably pack either the TRR8 or the Model 29. But I just find semiautos to be more convenient for EDC.
I have 2 S&W 6" Model 29-2's. Brand new never fired in boxes with consecutive serial numbers. Yep, they are safe queens. I have a S&W Model 442-2 Airweight I carry along with three speed loaders. It is easy to forget it is being carried. I load it with +p rounds.I figure 15 rounds will take care of most any situation I might be in. If I am planning on taking down ChiCom I will be carrying my AR15.

I may step on toes here but...after working on gun ranges for 10 plus years I have seen revolvers fail on more than one occasion. In all fairness it is usually ammo related such as a high primer that jams the cylinder but when it does happen to the untrained or less experienced person it is a serious problem assuming they were involved in a critical incident..

Training is the key, good point. Personally, I have never had a failure in any of my revolvers, though I only had 29 classic (new one), sp01 and 66-2 over my 18ish years of revolver “experience”. I have only shot good quality factory ammo tho, not sure if that matters. Now, I have had failures in my autoloaders, even in my trusted G19 :cryin
That’s just my own experience thus far.

My daily carry is a 1911. Converted right after 9-11-01. NEVER Forget.
On occasion I return to my roots and carry my Ruger GP-100 3"barrel.

I own a Ruger Security Six blued 6 shot that I absolutely love :thumbs2: :thumbs2: It's not fancy at all, plain--jaine and even one of the cheaper guns I've managed to acquire at $300 but she runs like a brand new sewing machine :anamatedbanana

I like it! I am assuming it is Nickel. Stainless normally does not shine like that.

I used to carry my 3” and 2+” Ruger SP101s quite a bit but since Kimber released their 6 shot K6Ss, those are my primary carry revolvers. And when I’m carrying one of those I always have a Ruger LCR 38+P in my left pocket. I carry two 8 round speed strips with 6 rounds in them for the K6Ss. No reload for the LCR.

And I’ve had revolver malfunctions. Mostly hard extraction, or unburnt powder under the extractor causing hard cylinder closure after a reload.

A built like a tank GP100 with cylinder binding problems. Sent off and fixed. I’ve got a S&W 940 with a broken hand off to them for repair. Been gone a while.

Really love my K6Ss, they’ve been flawless so far. I’ve settled on Hornady Critical Defense 125 grain magnum loads as my carry ammo for them. Nickel cases, clean burning powder, and that funny little red rubber plug in the nose. YouTube videos seem to show it an effective anti-plug device. The tapered bullet also makes an easy reload.

I am actually surprised by the number of folks who carry a wheel gun. Maybe I am not as much of an oddball as I thought I was.
