I still use Chrome myself but I really like the new version of Microsoft Edge. Anything Chromium based is going to be pretty good.

Chrome exists for the sole purpose of spying on you. Same thing with gmail. I converted everything to protonmail and firefox, and am actively moving back to linux.

They're not the same thing, i.e. I use protonmail exclusively WITH Thunderbird. Thunderbird is an email CLIENT, and as long as you configure it correctly, doesn't care whether it's pulling/sending messages from/to a hotmail/gmail/yahoo mail/America Online/protonmail et c. server. Protonmail is an email sever that HAS a web interface, but like you I prefer Thunderbird's. I've had the same email address for 20+ years so reluctant to change it. And you can't get "verizon.net" emails any more

All of my primary email addresses are @verizzon.net, they were grandfathered in when Verizon bought AOL a few years ago.
