Emailed them in late December, one month later got a reply that said I didn't need to do anything and it could take up to 8 weeks to get and update.
10 weeks after 12/5/13 i tried calling. While on hold i sent another email telling them it had been 10 weeks.
Finally talked to someone after 20+ minutes on hold, he said they are working on mid December aps and mine was probably in that group.
A week later they reply to my email that said I had been waiting 10 weeks, with "The timeline in which you will receive your Concealed Handgun license can be up to an 8 week process from the time the final documents were sent to the department."
So.... I guess they missed the whole 10 week part.
2/25/14 and still no updates.
After 90 days call your state rep. That will get things moving.

Called DPS yesterday requesting confirmation that they had received my documents through snail mail. The lady said that if I mailed it to the address on the barcode list then they have it and I should give them 2-3 more weeks. She didn't even check anything.

Still no website updates after I called two weeks ago. Day 79. I'm tempted to resubmit my application.

Should have it by next week... FYI Background only took 3 days. I mailed my paper work on 12/30/13.

Day 80. Called again. Was on hold for 33 minutes. Spoke to a lady named Rebecca. Different status from before where all my paperwork was in hand and was going to be expedited. Now, they had my fingerprints, couldn't find my checklist, CHL-100 or DD214. I have copies, so she asked me to fax them over. Did that. Now the wait continues.

Call back tomorrow and ask for a supervisor. I chased my tail the same way you did by sending a fax per Rebecca. She told me to send it to the attention of Molly. One week later I called back and was told that they had no record of the fax. When I told them I had a confirmation on my end that it was received I was told that they were having problems with the xerox machine.
If you do not get a supervisor involved you are spinning your wheels.

I agree with speaking to a supervisor...they did not have my CHL-100 after I sent it in via online and got a confirmation saying they had all that they needed. The first person I talked to said well go online and re submit it and then wait...I said absolutely not and to let me speak to a supervisor cause they made a mistake sending me the email saying they had everything. Supervisor told me to send it to his person email, this was Monday morning and my status was waiting on materials blah blah blah....Tuesday it said Manufacturing pending and Wednesday it was mailed. Talking to a supervisor does great things! be nice but be demanding especially if they messed up and it has been excessively long.
