Hi, I have been around here for a couple of months, but just now ran across this. My name is George and I was born, raised and live in Abilene, TX. I am a 67 year old Male with a couple of years Bible college. No wife, but have two beautiful daughters, son-in-laws and 5 grand kids [4 boys and 1 girl -age range 8-15] (that's the fun part). I am a retired pastor (Chruch of God/Assembly of God), mainly due to health. I have had several back operations and a heart transplant.

I have just became a CHL TODAY! I just never found the time, or money to do it. I have always been a gun person and have always owned several. My dad taught me to hunt and fish and bought me my first shotgun (.410) when I was 10 yrs old. I have to make several trips a year from Abilene to Dallas Medical City Hospital and it usually means a couple of nights at a motel each time. I had an incident that took place a couple of years ago that woke me up to the fact that there is evil in this world and I was not physically able to defend myself or love ones > CHL!

I spent several years in the U.S.Navy and served aboard a Destroyer, USS Mansfield DD 728 and I was, of course, a Gunners Mate!

My carry equipment will consist of a Colt Officers Model .45 ACP, a S&W .38 Special -Chief snubby, and a Ruger LCP.

I am a member of the NRA, TSRA, and American Legion. :patriot:

By the way, this is the first and only forum that I have ever participated in and that is because of the high caliber of real good and decent folks here that are willing to share and help us new people along. There is no filth, vulgar, offensive or disgusting talk or pictures. Thank you Charles :thumbs2:

Hi,
My name is Scott and I was born and raised in Texarkana, TX (Actually born in Texarkana, Arkansas). I am a 46 year old male with an engineering degree from Texas A& M University at College Station. Yes, another Aggie. I work for an Electric Co-op. I have been married for 21 years and have three kids. Just got back from visiting my oldest daughter in Houston last week. We left on Thursday for the trip and my CHL was in the mailbox when I got home after a 130 day wait. And yes, I carried the gun to Houston anyway, just kept it in the car at all times.

My carry equipment will consist of Glock 23, S&W 3913, Ruger P90 or S&W 29. It will be the 3913 mostly in a K&D Cochise Defender holster.

I am very happy to have found the forum and am sure I will have questions along the way.

Thanks,
Scott

Thank you for your compliment on the way Charles runs the board. Once in a while something sneeks through but we really watch & try to not let anything stay on the public board very long w/o catching it.

I too am a pastor for 35yrs now. Excellent choices of arms.
Thank you for your compliment & remember the prayer forum.

Wow, you must have been one of the last St. Michael babies at the old hospital. When did they stop doing babies in Arkansas, anyway? Wasn't it not long after that?

My just-turned-13 son was one of the first after they moved to the Texas side and started doing babies again.

Welcome to the forum, neighbor! Let's go shooting sometime. Or at least, meet up at a Gunslingers game.

Hi folks - I've run in and out here and there. Time to register

I'm a married 29yr old female
bull in Health and Fitness but have strayed to this entrepreneurial thing - leather work, making holsters specifically
^^^ oops, the the filter doesn't like the abbreviated version of Bachelor's of Science :smilelol5:

Married 4yrs to a Navy man
No Tx CHL yet, do have WA permit (started carrying at our first station in '04)
Current location: Japan....home is Corpus Christi
Colt Commander .45acp and my holsters

Looking forward to getting back to TX and settling in to do some work this coming early spring. Been on the move a little bit since getting married and getting the bull. While doing the ever-glorious "dependent" thing I decided to build holsters for my Beretta in between my range time and my work outs. I found out I liked that a lot. Built a Oacp .45 and CCO 9mm one long boring deployment while home alone with my Labrador, Chester :totap:

I'm ready to get settled into a new workshop for myself as well as take a CHL class once and for all. I'm going to ask dad to take it with me as I know he's been wanting to take it too. Unfortunately life happened so he's not been able to spend too much time doing fun activities. He's up for retirement this year - just might be the right time.

I love to ride motorcycles too. Sadly we're selling our current bikes before the move back but the upside is I get to go bike shopping! Ohh, and truck shopping. Boy do I have a list to check off

Anyhow I'm rambling - nice to meet yall
