hilarious! It is rowdy over there isn't it? Combative too, but what do you expect? Target1911 and I should be heading out of Fort Worth around 6:30 (or earlier if he wants) so well be there at 9:30 ~ish, I'm gonna stop off at wally world and grab some cokes and cheap carbonated explosive devices (off brand cokes) So save some shooting for us! (and possibly pick up some more .223 I only have like 300 rounds)

Itis 3 hours to my door from InfoMart Dallas with normal traffic. I take the holland exit and go through Florence then to CR 236 to my place. This cuts off about 20-30 miles off. Let me know if I need to send you more info.
Only 300 rounds....that will not last long

Yah, well we both are bringing our 10/22's and I've got a couple thousand rounds of that I might shoot, it's cheaper anyway, and then probably 5-600 9mm. What's the distance of your range? I have your address. Does that route save time? On my map it's saying it ads about 20 min, but saves only 2 miles over exiting highway 200

I think it does save time, due to holland exit has a very nice road to Florence (70mph is what I do, but the speed limit may be different). The range is 30-40 yards at this time. Later this winter we plan to make a 100 yrd tunnel for testing rifles. 10/22's rock...I am looking to get one very soon.

Go to Cheaper than Dirt. They have the new Wolf 223 for just under $6 a box. Untill I get set up to load 223, that is all I can afford to shoot. It has worked great in my AR. Not even one failure.
On a side note.....I think we will be taking my vehicle. It has more room for more toys.
I will be bringing about dozen previously shot IDPA targets, that we can use for pistol drills and such, along with some cheap sodas and other stuff.
I am bringing my Red Dot equipped 10/22 also. If anyone wants to get "Brick Ammo" for it, please get the Remington. I will not use any Federal Bulk in my 22s due to past problems with it.

Bring a staple gun...I can not find mine....dang it. If I had time today I would go to CTD but I will be working to about 9-10 tonight at InfoMart doing what all hillibillies do (updating servers and such) She was very surprised that I was a Regional IT Manager at a very large engineering firm...

Is this a Registered NFA staple gun? dose it come with illegal clips?

No I havnt registered it yet. It uses 100rd stripper clips.
Failures include but not limited to: double feeds, misfires, hang fires, FTEs, FTFs, FTSs (failure to staple), and it has suffered from a few squibs. I have yet to find the Full Auto selector, and the accuracy just plain stinks but what the heck, ya cant find another gun that is as cheap to shoot. I can get 5000 projectiles for about $4.

Brian,
I just wanted to let you know that I am sorry you are having issues with your neighbors. But, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread and check it daily for news of the latest antics. I agree, the gloves come off when accused of drug running. Granted, I can understand they have concerns, but Amy would have been better served by contacting you directly and working out some compromise. Perhaps if she had read this thread she would have realized you are a reasonable person with a right to shoot on your land...if not some what vandictive (I would have done the same thing as you

). I hope to attend a future shoot, until then I'll monitor the peace talks from afar. Good luck and shoot straight my friend!
-Jeff

Thanks again Brian for your hospitality and allowing the use of the range. I'm sad I missed it, but I greatly appreciate what you have done. Keep us all informed.

Too bad I couldn't make it out. Sounds like everyone was set to have some fun!
While Forum Day was canceled, I had committed to the trip anyway, as my girlfriend's sister and brother-in-law had some repairs to do at their house in Friendswood and needed some help. In about 12 hours of work over the weekend, we were able to set posts and completely build a new cedar fence for their back yard (and part of a neighbor's yard as well. It wasn't a complete loss of shooting time, though - I put around 1800 rounds through a nail gun, attaching all 300 boards we put up.
I'll continue to watch this thread for the next shoot. I'd really love to make one!
BTW, we're having an Austin-area get-together in Lockhart on the 25th - I'd love to meet you there if you can make it. There's a post about it in the General Gun, Shooting, and Equipment section.
