They don't mail out of Austin believe it or not. They ship them to a company in San Antonio to be mailed out.

Ah, still 45 minute drive! I'm smack in the middle. I'll continue to wait. Not much I can do either way. Appreciate it!

Just got off the phone with a nice lady from RSD. The "new" wait time is now 12 weeks due to the amount of permits they are dealing with.

My TX application has a five week headstart on my AZ application. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if my AZ non-resident permit shows up first.

I have to say that I was surprised that my Democratic State Rep from Liberal Austin did more for me than Governor Abbott. While I did receive a form letter from Governors office saying I would be contacted, I never was. I never received even an acknowledgement from Watson's office which shouldn't surprise me. Duke's staff on the other hand contacted me within 2 hours of my initial email and kept in contact with me to make sure RDS had contacted me. When no one had by last Friday, she assured me that she would follow up on Monday. After I got my 2 calls, I was forwarded the email from RDS saying that my license had been approved and asked if there was anything else they could do for me. Rep Dukes does have an opponent in November and I will make sure to cast my ballot for her.

Same, email said same date but no website change and nothing in the mail today and I'm in San Antonio. Maybe tomorrow.

I am in SA also, its 81 days today all in date was 1/7/16, got a call last Wednesday saying they were going to look at my app on Friday, but not sure they were open, since it was Good Friday, and not sure what that means if they are just starting to investigate
, it could be another 30 days by what the statutes say.
Very frustrated and contacting State Rep, Governors Office or Public Utility Commission is a waste of time, at least in my experience it has been.
Hopefully I will hear something soon but congrats to all that have received plastic it gives me hope mine will come someday!

I never called the RSD for an update as most have demonstrated here that is worthless anyway. I figured it'd look better when I contacted my state rep to not appear overly 'hungry' for it when they hit up RSD. Just over 80 days and at least a supervisor had to take an uncomfortable phone call from a State Reps office. I'll put it down as a win all things considered.
