The Academy in Katy has the Tula sardine cans (with opener):
9mm- $199.00/900rounds works out to $11/50
.223- $149.00/500rounds works out to $6/20

They also have .45acp but I didn't see a price.

The price is not outstanding when you take into account Wal Mart has Winchester white box 9mm at $22/100 (brass) and Academy has Monark .223 steel case for $5/20. It is a good way to store a large quantity of ammo and you only have to sneak it past your wife one time.

I just picked up another 2 boxes of Federal 100 in .45ACP from Wally world for $28.97 each. I am surprised how long this price has stuck around.

Sure they do. You just have to go the right Wally World. Seriously. The Walmarts don't all have the same pricing and selection. The Walmart in Kemah has the best ammo pricing close to League City. The Walmart near the intersection of Dixie Farm and 518 in Pearland also has a great selection and pricing. The manager in the gun area there takes a lot of pride in the deals he finds and is very congenial. A buddy picked up some at that price (actually he said it was cheaper ). He went to both stores, but it was Kemah that he bought them at. I wouldn't be surprised if Dixie Farm has the same deal.

I'll have to check. I looked at the one on 646 and they were more.

Alvin Walmart has a bunch of 9mm 115 gr. Federal Hi Shok HPs for 15.98 for 50 round box

Cabelas has a great deal right now on 9mm Sellier & Bellot. Only 10.99 for the box of 50. Guys were walking out of the store with 50 boxes...

This ends up being roughly the same price as freedom munitions blaster

Dang, I had 500 rounds in my cart and poked around a little. By the time I went to check out I could only get 5. All sold out now.

dang i did the same, added 10 boxes to the cart and went to lunch come back and its all gone.
oh well shoulda just checked out instead of trying to decide on 500 vs 1000
