Could it be...
Noooooo fingerprints were denied. Have to retake them, needless to say I am leaving work early today.
Does anyone know how much that will slow down the process?
If it's like my bad photos it seems to have only added a week. I mailed the new photos last Friday and I checked online just now and it says Processing.
If they pull birth certificates from your county of birth I may have another problem ahead. My father spelled his middle name Cleatus and blessed me with that for a middle name. I went all the way through high school spelling it that way. Dec, 1957 prior to enlisting in the Navy I ankled over to the Denton County courthouse and got a copy. I looked at it and said "Aunt Helen (she was the aunt of a very good friend of mine) that's the wrong spelling". She checked the big old book again and said "nope Myron, that's how it's spelled here." So, I spent the next 45 years or so spelling my middle name Cletus. A few years ago I started working on my genealogy (what old retired geezer doesn't

) so sent for a copy again. Guess what? Now my middle name is Cleatus again.

I just got an email response... mine is awaiting printing. Which means that it will probably not happen until after my birthday on Sunday. I am going to lapse, but at least I get an "extra" year.

thanks! after checking out all the info on this forum, I was really not expecting to see it get approved so quickly! I do almost feel a little guilty because my father sent in his application a two or three weeks before I sent mine, and my brother sent his in the same day I did. And theirs still aren't approved. I assume that's because they're in Harrison County. hopefully they will both be approved soon, i'll feel more guilty the longer i have one and they don't.
hope you get yours soon too.

Does anyone know how long it takes to do the background check in Dallas county? I am waiting for the background check to be complete.

Longview (Gregg county). I haven't seen many of us Longview-ites (Longviewers?) on here, so I wasn't too sure how long the check would take. I was pleasantly surprised.
Good luck!

Well I broke down and called the DPS today. I spoke with a somewhat polite lady who told me my license was issued on the 9th. She was not sure why my info had not updated on there website. I was told seven to ten days. I'm at 91 days now, so I will be around 100 days when it gets here. I'm not going to hold my breath since many have been told the same thing and have waited another month or so. Now I'm really anxious!

I know I shouldn't have, but I called down to Austin today. I'm glad I did, because I found out that all my background information has been received by DPS, the hold up is getting a technician to review through the background checks and issue or deny the license. I asked if she had any idea how much longer for that to happen and her answer..."due to the high volume of applications we're receiving each day, it could be 2-3 more weeks."
Now, I don't want to sound annoyed by this, but shouldn't applications that are almost complete take priority over newly received applications? It sounds as though they are bouncing between in process and newly received applications throughout the day, when it is more efficient to get stuff out the door that's complete, rather than sit on it, but no one ever said the government was efficient.
