That's what they said in 2009. That dog won't hunt. :mad5

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

And we fired a bunch of 'em after that. I'm hoping this group will do better.

That's very good for us, albeit larger than expected. I trust the House conferees will be equally as good Mr. Speaker.

Chas.

The Govenor has 20 days to sign or not sign or veto.

He will either sign - (between now and June 19th) and it will become law September 1, 2011

Do nothing - (June 19th, it will be considered a closed issue) and it will become law September 1, 2011

Veto -

By the way, I just realized that June 19th is Fathers Day. As far as I am concerned... A done deal parking lot bill is the best Fathers Day present that the State of Texas could give. :anamatedbanana

My best guess is that he will allow it to become law by default, without his signature. That way, he can tell the corporate interests, "I didn't sign that parking lot bill that you opposed", and he can tell gun owners, "I didn't veto the parking lot bill that you wanted." This way, he can claim to be on both sides. Of course, I am pretty cynical about politicians, even those I support, like Perry.

EconDoc - you have that so right! Running for president makes you a cautious type. Political analyses suggest that candidates need big bucks from the business oriented GOP money types in suits and Benzmobiles while you need votes from the jeans and truck social conservatives - who like to carry guns. Perry must be confused.

Remember campus carry - now where was his bully pulpit or emergency agenda?

Good thing coyotes don't vote. Don't have a lobby either.
