You will absolutely love this forum. I joined a couple of weeks ago, and took my CHL course today. Most of the information that you can find here relating to laws, rules, etc will be re-addressed in the class you take, thereby giving you a leg up on the course and test - it certainly did me.

How far are you out in West Texas? I spent some years in Abilene, a zillion years ago.

Well howdy neighbor. I shoot there too! I'm about 8 minutes from them...in fact that's where we shot for our qualifications for CHL class, back in July. I've been shooting there since May of this year, when I came full circle back into guns & shooting, after a long, dry spell.

When you add up everything including the application fee, instructor fee, fingerprint fee, photo fee, maybe a range fee, etc, it's around $300 total to get a CHL. Maybe $250 if you find a cheap class.

Ahhhh, I got ya! I thought you were only talking about the class fee. Well, that sounds about right.

Welcome HK4U! There's got to be a story behind those two.

Found the forum after I started the CHL process. Was a stalker for about a month then read something that I had to respond to. Now I am hooked! Great forum though...lots of good people and help.
