9mm FMJ target stuff is readily available from a few reputable internet order sites for $13-$14/box delivered in case quantities. I can accept a 15%-20% increase in high-demand times. What I can't accept is an 80% increase when supply, although constrained, is available. From what I've been told by shop owners, ammunition wholesale prices have not increased, but supply is tight (note the word "tight" - not nonexistent). I've bought 2 guns from CTD in McKinney before they started gouging. I'll buy nothing else from them.

What sites, I can't find any.

A search (or a scan of topic headers in this board sections) will find the good, bad and the ugly.
The real issue is going to be "how much patience do you have?" The sellers get shipments 100 or so cases at a time. Once they hit the receiving in their systems, they show up as available for sale - and the clock starts ticking. Best strategy is to bookmark a couple of pages - and check them once hourly or so - throughout the week. You'll get a hit sooner or later.
I scored some bulk stuff with very minimal effort last week. They also said they were running 5 days behind on shipping. I RECEIVED my order in 5 days. I was very happy.
Happy hunting!

Finding ammo today for a reasonable or normal price is all about being at the right place at the right time.

I got 1000 rounds of 115gr magtech FMJ and 2000 rounds of Aguila 117gr JHP - Each cost me $279 + a couple of bucks shipping at
http://www.sgammo.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It's not there all the time. You have to keep checking. I'd stay away from some of the other guys who are selling the same stuff for almost double what I paid. Not saying that $14/box is a bargain, but it beats what some other retailers (
http://www.bulkammo.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; comes to mind) are getting for the same stuff (over $500). Sadly, they are moving it at that price as well. They just won't get my business when this all slows down.

Bought 10 boxes of .223 62 gr FMJ for $12.19 box from Cheaper than Dirt today. Seems reasonable even if they are gouging other items.

Man...plenty of 9 in stock but at an 80% mark up, just not sure it's worth it. Tough decision...

Lol.. I was even thinking well if I bought it online and in texas it would be 8.25% tax plus shipping...to help justify the cost.
I still haven't pulled the trigger.

Did I just get lucky? WalMart in 281 North San Antonio had a blister box of Federal Range .45 and some Federal Hydroshock .45 sitting right there, on the back counter, not in the case or anything. I feared going back there to get it myself so I called a WallyWorker over and she sold me my three box limit. She said I could come back in and get the rest, but I left that for you guys!
That'll never happen again.
