You boys (or girls) must be the luckiest folks to run into boxes of non-overpriced ammo! All the Academys and Walmarts are one box only, assuming I can even find one box. Athena Gun Club has ammo most of the time, with restriction of two boxes for most calibers. Last time I was there, it was $18.99 for 9, and $19.99 for 40.

That one box thing must be your local WalMart's own policy. The few I've been to in my area are all 3 boxes per customer. But, yes, it's still hit and miss.

Live and learn. I will NEVER do business with these folks again, and I encourage everyone else to stay clear. It was "in stock" when I placed the order, and now it's a minimum of 4 months to get my order? These folks are nothing but crooks. I'm about as fed up as I can get.

Is this typical of the current situation? Am I wrong in thinking this is beyond what is reasonable?

Nevermind. I sent them an email with the law they were breaking, and they canceled the order. I'll be filing a complaint with the FTC and BBB.

Ammoman.com has cases of 38 Special FMJ 1,000 rounds including shipping for $450. 500 is a bit high at $290.
.38 has been a bit hard to find but what hasn't? They have .44 Mag but its high everywhere.
Good shooting!

38 SPECIAL SPEER #53833 LAWMAN CLEANFIRE 158 GRAIN +P
500 OR 1000 ROUNDS DELIVERED

Edit. Actually this is total metal jacket, no exposed lead. I don't shoot indoors so it never matters to me. Wheel gun ammo is what I need to start reloading with cast bullets...

Looks like this has already shipped, today, Monday 5/6. Ordered Sat.

Edit: received my shipment Thur. 5/9

Remington Golden Saber 9mm Luger 124 gr. Brass-Jacketed Hollow Point (25 rnd) standard velocity
$16/box 25 is a good price. In stock as long as it lasts... how long is that these days  ? They had some Remington Viper .22 LR that disappeared before I could post it... :???:

I've been getting shipements from ammo2u.com within a few days of ordering. They have shipped the same or next day on my orders.
Once you order from them they email you before they post new ammo available on the website to give existing customers a headsup.

Good shooting.

Edit: they just put this up also: Winchester 45 Automatic 230 gr. Ranger T-Series (500rnd) $260.00

Folks, hope Texas is doing better than KY in the "ammo in stock" category. After being spoiled living in the metro-mess for so many years, it's a bit disappointing that I don't have many places to check for ammo here. We have one Wally World and it's shanked every morning by the same bunch. Apparently you got to be there at 5 or 6 in the morning to get in line for the ammo department. They put it out at 7 - 7:30 am if that gives you any idea. Hope your dealings or better.

Seems the ammo thing might be quieting down. Drove past Academy yesterday and saw nobody in line.

Further, websites are starting to have much more ammo for sale: http://www.gunbot.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I bet by the end of the summer this crazy rush is over.

Went to Freedom Munitions (Jones Rd. and 290 in Houston) today...

PLENTY of 9mm and 5.56. Looked like they had a few cases each of .40S&W, .45, and .308 also. I asked the guy if they were having better luck staying ahead of demand and he said it felt like it.

I did note their prices creeping up a bit (call it market leveling). I walked out with 1000 rounds of 9mm Blaster 115gr for $366.00 (tax included).

I'm going shooting this weekend!!! :fire

Decent prices for 9mm nowadays. On par with Athena's $18 per box, but limited to 3 boxes.
