BradGroux wrote:I just received a letter back from DPS saying that the photo provided was of "poor quality" and was "pixelated"... crazy thing is the picture was taken and reviewed by the Top Gun CHL course and to me it doesn't seem pixelated at all, even when viewing under a magnifying glass, the top gun instructor even inspects the image. My question is can I call and challenge their finding and point out their error or is it easier to just go get new pictures taken? The problem is I took the pictures at Top Gun because I wanted to be sure that they would be accepted, and I've seen some of the passport photos camera shops and drug stores take and I'd be worried that they wouldn't be accepted either. Any ideas or feedback would be appreciated.
i think its their way of buying time :totap:
Bingo. I talked to an instructor who said they have rejected photos lately and he has been unable to find anything wrong with them and he just sent them the same one back and they accepted the second time. :totap: :grumble

Hey USA1,

turns out I was going to the wrong one. I just never took the time to really look over the page seeing how I've been so busy. I went over your last post and then checked the website again. I'm in processing and probably have been for awhile. So, my time lines are screwed up now, but whatever. At least I'm processing.
Thanks for the help.

Argh ,that may be the truth. I got a letter for rejection of passport photo cause it was too dark. So i figured I would stop at walgreens photo shop to take my passport photo again and then head over to my CHL instructors place. Since it's a 40 min drive , I'd figure get the picture out of the way. The guy at walgreens told me that I had to wear a dark shirt. I showed him the letter saying my passport came out too dark. I even had a white shirt on with stripes in the rejected photo. The moron was still persistent about not taking my photo. Good thing cause once I heard it was $7.99 for one 2x2 photo I was like what the heck?

I then call my instructor and told him my situation and even told him about the walgreen incident and he laughed and said thats absurd . That the state doesnt care what color of shirt you wear. He then futher told me to swing by when I had the chance to re-do the passport Pic.

From there I decided to call the number from the state that was on the rejection photo letter. The first guy who serviced me STEVE. irritated me off. I asked if my application would pick up where it started or restart the 60 day wait. :rules: He was like it will have to restart again. i hung up on him cause i was mad. :mad5 . I then get home and decided to call again to make sure what I heard so i called again and this charming voice from a lady picked up and I told her my sitution and she told me , it would take 3 weeks to get back in the system and if everything was complete , it would pick up where it last left off.

I was soooo glad to hear that. I actually got a lil headache after talking to Stupid Steve. :fire :cryin

i Can't wait ! :cheers2: :clapping: :hurry: :patriot: :woohoo :anamatedbanana :thewave

No offense man, but you need to learn to relax. Hanging up the phone because someone said something you didn't want to hear sounds pretty childish. I'm sure it was in the heat of the moment, but if you are going to be carrying a sidearm, this is just good practice to learn to control your feelings and not make it visible

USA1 Did you see this post?

Day 119 (no issues with paperwork)... email response from DPS today... "At this time, we are still currently awaiting a response from Harris County" (This post was 5/11)

I refuse to wait that long for Harris County. Letters to reps and calls to reps go out tomorrow as well as to the Mayor.

119 days is absurd!

This guy wrote this 10 days before we started processing with DPS.

Well, if it has anything to do with counties, I'm sure glad I don't live in Harris.

i also noticed that a lot of January people are experiencing the biggest delays..could the election have something to do with the surge of applications ?

Well I got my pin today. :) :anamatedbanana

My wife got hers too but also got a letter about her fingerprints being 'substandard'. :banghead:

Interestingly on each letter our address was wrong but with different errors. On mine they couldn't spell League City and on my wife's the street name was spelled with an N not an M....I wonder if I should reject their letters on the grounds they were incorrectly typed? lol

Amazing...we have to be absolutely perfect, yet they can slapdash things...go figure! :headscratch

congrats on the PIN...the mistakes dont surprise me. on my drivers license, they put Tomall..instead of Tomball.
i keep thinking this may cause some sort of issue for my CHL.
