Ms. XXXXX-
Representative Bonnen has had many complaints about the delay in
processing CHL licenses. Hurricane Ike caused many reports to be late.
The agency has also had many more applicants than usual, which has
increased the backlog. However, work is being done to speed up the
process. If you would like to give me your personal information, such
as your application number, I will be glad to contact DPS on your
behalf. I will also need a phone number in case there is a problem
they need to discuss with you.

Dear Ms. XXXXX:
The Department is in receipt of your correspondence to Senator Mike
Jackson's office regarding your application for a concealed handgun
license. We regret the delay in processing your application. During the
past few months we have received a significant increase in applications,
which has created a backlog in processing. Our records indicate that
your application was received on February 10, 2009. We are processing
your application and will make every attempt to expedite the process. If
you have any further questions, please fell free to contact me, thank
you for your patience.

I will not post the response from Heather when she got nagged at by Bonnen's office, there are kids present...
was something to the effect, we are trying to get it done stop nagging.
Now my girlfriend is afraid they are going to deny it as we squeaked real loud...

well its been since early january that I sent my application. My lone setback was an unsigned picture that postponed/restarted the clock and I had to wait another 60 days. 60 days passed (the 26th of last month was the additional 60 days). Well I check DPS website this morning and my license is active/mailed out.
its been fun hanging out...be patient.
