Nothing beyond the 80's and early 90's really sticks too much. I suppose that it's after that point that I pretty much grew up (out of high school/finishing up University) and it was more about making my way rather than enjoying life in general. Oh well. At least now I can afford to crank it up on some nice gear.
Nice media set up!
For another one I like a lot: As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I played Trumpet through Jr High and High school.
My ensemble group played Canadian Brass's arrangement of Pachabel's Canon in D one year. I know a lot of people have used the song for various important events. I love it for a different reason. There was another kid in my grade who played Trumpet. He was a phenomenal natural musician. He was always first chair, and I was always second. We both ran cross country together and were into old cars so we were great friends...but he was always the better Trumpet player, so he always got the solos, etc.
This arrangement, much like the original, gives the 2nd string violin (or trumpet in my case) a LOT of great stuff to play. It wasn't written like most arrangements geared towards Jr high or high school ensembles where 2nd string gets lousy, boring parts....so I had a ton of fun playing it, even as 2nd trumpet.

And if I'm going to bring that video up, I have to share a funny cellist rant on Pachabel. Every time I hear this guy's rant on Canon in D I crack up. It also makes the Tuba players actions in the previous video make a lot more sense if you're a musician.
