The senior trooper who told the junior trooper to do the search.

There are two different incidents in this thread which makes it even more confusing. The first event happened in Addison in Dallas or Collin County. The other one happened in Brazoria County. Even the Chronicle in the story of the trooper being rehired has the video of the Addison, but is talking about the Brazoria County incident.
Now this thread is so convoluted that I don't know who claims what, who has been fired, rehired, indicted, or wrist slapped. Someone is probably getting off scot free.
I think it is a conspiracy by the DPS to cause confusion so someone can keep their job. /tinfoil

I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't agree to a roadside cavity search.

So we who were outraged at the start, and were admonished to wait and let the facts play out have done so. With precious little satisfaction. Two women were digitally raped by officers under color of law and there were next to nothing of consequences for the offenders. There is nothing to stop this from happening again to me or to my daughters.
As has been alluded to, there is precious little I can do to stop it. At least if an unbadged criminal attacks me I can fight them off. If a criminal with a badge (which is what i consider these two officers to be)decides to rape me I must stand still and let it happen. Then even if it is brought to light those who attacked me violently (rape is violent even undercor of law) will get away with two months of lost salary as a punishment because someone else told her to do it! How is this justice? How is this reassuring to the rest of us women that we will not be raped and our rapist let go.
My eight year old would know better than to give me that excuse (but johnny told me to hit susie) for anything. I am disgusted and very upset and my confidence in DPS is SEVERELY shaken.
I could respect the grand jury (though I do not understand how they accepted that excuse), but what I cannot abide is that this officer who was willing to violate two women in a most disturbing fashion will be back on the beat.
We think we are so sophisticated in our justice system, but even in far more brutal times representatives of the govt that raped people in good standing with the gov't faced justice.

Yep, If a LEO wants to do that to me he is going to have to cuff hands and legs or tase me into submission.
That is a hill I will die on.

My wife is of the same mind. She said she would go to jail first and then we'd retire off the settlement from the tasing and violation of her civil rights.

Here is a story that covers both incidents this thread is intermingling.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... -1.1414668" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The troopers in the Addison case have both been fired, not rehired, and have charges pending on them. In late June, Dobbs and her attorneys settled their case for $184,000. Criminal trials against Helleson and Farrell are pending.
The Brazoria County case was investigated and nothing improper was found beyond “rookie mistake” and have since been rehired.
I find it odd the troopers can violate two women on the side of the road, one in North Texas and the other in South Texas, and claim it isn’t a policy. I also find it odd that the North Texas white women being violated leads to charges against the offending officer, while the South Texas black women’s attacker is rehired by the department. I usually don’t scream racism at every inconsistency, but this one has me wondering.

I already signed a blank check once to protect those rights.
And again you just might. I wouldn't counsel recommending getting killed or maimed by the police to others, especially not on this board, and I certainly wouldn't recommend such action to my daughter.
