Renewal plastic in hand today. Mailed 1/28/13 plastic in hand 2/27/13.

My wife's shows mailed today and I am still in background check. Man, she's gonna really enjoy getting hers first. Damn!

I'm on the slow boat, but at least I'm on the boat!

Second update at five weeks. I checked yesterday about five, so they updated it between then and 6:30 this morning.

1/18: Started Application Online
1/19: CHL CLass
1/24: Required Materials Submitted Online
1/25: First Update to: Waiting on required materials
2/6: Email Response: "Received the documents"
3/1: Second Update to : Fingerprints and Background Check: Under review


Is it normal for fingerprints to be under review? I've had trouble with fingerprints for government contracting jobs. It seems I have unusual prints with lot's of little scars and odd patterns, but that seems like it would make me much easier to identify. Probably just being paranoid.

My fingerprints where under review as well due to a partial amputation. My wifes showed accepted day one but mine went to manufacture before hers. I've read that it depends on the "specialist" and which boxes they select and when.

Yes Really. I'm starting to think the web status has more to do with internal DPS workflow than what they are ACTUALLY doing. Did you have to re-submit fingerprints?

Got mine in the mail yesterday! Took 5 days from "mailed" status. Spouse's came 7 days after "mailed" status. No rhyme or reason but we are both carrying now!

I put that at 42 days mailbox to mailbox.

50 days from the day I mailed my packet to the day I got plastic in hand.

You guys are really making me jealous. I have been in BG review since 2/6. Over three weeks. Only one minor offense 34 years ago. Certified copy of dismissal included plus a certified copy of NO records in the two states I have lived in.

46 days mailbox to mailbox!
