If I read correctly, the knife amendment would make it illegal to carry in places that it is illegal to carry a gun.
I can carry a knife on campus right now, but I can't (currently) carry a gun. I believe the amendment would make that illegal.

I think it's to make it clear whose side you are voting with. They have been showing how the author of the bill, and the author of the amendment are voting.

Keeping the bill clean makes sense to me.
Okay, tums has been tabled. Popcorn now being considered.

Johnson was calling out cities that restrict guns and included "Arizona".
He also called a bunch of cities that restrict guns and have the highest crime rates. Surprised?
Now it's a race issue. Geez!!!

So basically requesting an exemption to Texas' firearm preemption for certain cities.

If cities have this option, you could wear out your shirt, jacket, holster, etc. when moving around since there are many bordering cities. Also more confusion for LEOs who in most adjacent areas, share jurisdictions.

Unless Arizona has changed since I lived there, he is incorrect.

Last thing we need is a patchwork of open carry laws like we currently have a patchwork of knife laws.

I have never lived in Arizona but I always thought it was a state. Am I wrong?
It's kind of like the time Mike Tyson was asked what he will when he retired. His response was "I'll probably settle down somewhere in the outskirts of Illinois".

It does affect people who don't live in his district, because people travel throughout the state. I live in Austin but visit Dallas frequently.

Just think of the people that live in the DFW cluster of cities. What a mess this would cause.
