I'm sure some have been asked but i was in Walmart neighborhood market yesterday in Garland and was not asked. The lot guy that corrals the baskets did make a comment though. he said and I quote "It's been 17 days and you are the first i have seen OC in the store"

You know, I actually called my program attorney with [Pre-paid legal service] about this topic on Monday. Lol then on Tuesday I found this site. Anyway, he told me that it was his opinion that the whole "we don't want to lose our alcohol license" defense is a big fat load. He also told me that while I am under no obligation to produce my license for anyone other than law enforcement or a magistrate, Wal-Mart is likewise under no obligation to let me carry in their store, and if I refuse to show them my license they can in turn ask me to leave -- which under 30.07 I am required to do. It basically ends up being a thing where you can swallow your pride and show 'em the license or you can throw a fit about your rights and go shop somewhere else. If displaying the license I am proud to possess is the cost of openly carrying in Wal-Mart, I think I can manage that.

That being said, I have been to Wal-Mart in Lamesa and Lubbock on several occasions with my full-size .45 in a belt holster and have never been asked.

I think this is just another overblown issue that really amounts to nothing. They have the right and justification to ask as they deem necessary and apparently, they deem it necessary very seldom.

I have a nodding acquaintance with a Wal-Mart cashier who normally runs their self-checkout at one end of the store. Today she was on the first regular register and I was checking out. Out of curiosity, I asked her if she was aware of anyone OC there. She is in a position where she likely would have seen or been aware of one of the employees asking for an LTC. She said that they had no one OC but that she would have no problem with it. She volunteered that she is an LTC holder herself and doesn't think OC is a good idea for her. Their "no unlicensed carry" sign is very close to where she normally stands.

BTW, my trips to that Wal-Mart are normally looking for .22 ammo. Today, I was out of luck again but the case was stocked more than the last 3 years with every other caliber. They are even starting to lower some prices. WooHoo!
