I am not a fan at all of the Copwatch people. Some of the biggest bunch of "gotcha" trolls in the Social Justice, Inc. movement. However, a bad chief like Acevedo and some bad apples in the force that have been entrenched for years gives them an awful lot of ammo.

Unfortunately, Art also is refusing to call in the Rangers or FBI to perform an independent investigation.

Won’t step down.
Never a good sign when your start having to answer those questions.
Bad when a candidate for mayor is telling the mayor what he may already be contemplating. If he doesn’t it will be an issue in the campaign. If he does Hispanic voting block may object - Catch 22.
Texas Rangers is best step for Mayor.

After six weeks of recovery, Goines is out of the ICU and his attorney, Nicole DeBorde, is responding to the controversy in defense of her client.
Six weeks?
Is the habitual lying congenital or professional?

Allegedly he spoke to at least one neighbor, possibly more. The video is still factually more accurate than the initial reports by mainstream media, and this is one of the first guys to call bull on the initial reports.
I went back and watched the HPD "animation" on a different link. Now the NNH video makes more sense.

Always find it interesting to follow the "frame-"reframe" game as I call it.
Notice the lawyer directs the focus away from Goines to reframe as follows:
attack the chief of police;
point out political agendas;
believes there has been "unfair publicity";
notes "angry press conferences";
D.A.'s charging decision may be "politically filtered."
Anyway, wonder if investigating officers will get any useful information from the cell phone warrants.

If the facts are on your side, pound the facts into the table.
If the law is on your side, pound the law into the table.
If neither the facts nor the law are on your side, pound the table.

At this point, the only logical conclusion is this was business as usual in Houston, with tacit approval by the state police and AG.
