I'm still waiting. They want a certified letter from the district clerk on an arrest that was dropped.

I'm still waiting as well. Since I work in Harris county my application is probably stuck in line with Background checks.

Congrats man. I knew it wouldn't reset. They just tell you that to cover themselves. So in the event that it takes a long time to finish processing...also to get you all jumping for joy to see that it finished sooner than expected..Either way, congrats and enjoy your priviledge to carry. Hope all that is waiting finishes soon. Keep your head up guys!

Still waiting here too. They told me that the 60 days reset when I had to resubmit my finger prints and it looks like they are going to take it to the limit (hopefully not longer). The second 60 days should be up on 24 February.

Tell you what, it's heartbreak waiting for that mailman, and it doesn't come! I'm not sure which wait is worse!

Well, I finally got the words I've been wating for. Application complete, Licensed issued. Only took about 72 days. I guess not too bad considering what other folks have waited.

Question: I contacted my Representative last Friday and low and behold his office contacted me today and they want to help... but they are asking for my application number to help find my paperwork. I applied online... I don't remember an application number (although I would imagine it was probably on the documents I sent back to Austin)
Does anyone know of a quick and easy way to find an app number online? I guess writing/calling DPS is in order again.
Disclaimer: I know, I know... I'm pushing it, but I feel like those of us that work or live or have lived in Harris County are being treated unfairly.

1) Should have printed out those documents and made copies in case the DPS lost your stuff.
2) The DPS can check your application status with your Social Security number. Then see if they will give you your application number.

I emailed and called my State Rep (Mike Jackson) two weeks ago. They said they will have someone call me back, but nothing. Not a great sign for someone who is representing me, huh?

Yes, a good lesson for newbies and for when I renew (if I ever get my plastic!)
BTW I've had more contact with my rep and his office is doing what they can to facilitate matters.
I'm going on 78 days and counting with DPS saying they are waiting on BG checks (unfortunately I live in Ft. Bend, but work in Harris County... so two BGC's. Ugh!)

Well,
I finally got all of the certified letters they wanted. I spoke with a very helpful lady in Austin she got the last letter today. She informed me my plastic would go in the mail tomorrow.
