It's like they just placed all of our apps in the same bucket and pushed everyone though at the same time.

What's funny is that I called the other day and they were waiting for backgrounds to come back. Today, approved....Seems strange to me. Probably was already approved, but waited until they get "enough" in the "bucket" to push them through.

I don't care one way or the other, I'll just be glad when it's finally here. I was told 7 to 10 days.

I'm glad to see things are getting pushed through but seems to me the hold up was at DPS and not from the counties taking too long doing background checks. Just seems strange that all of the sudden many many apps are approved within a week of each other. However, glad to see the process moving along now. My thanks to those who complained, wrote letters, and :rules: pestered people until they actually did something about it. You guys are the greatest. :tiphat:

Mine was approved (although I mailed early may and was sent to processing in June 10).

It appears, and I say 'appears' that they are working through their backlog and 'pushing' most of the old apps out first. Almost like they brought in a workforce and said "here, take care of this old stack"

Remember folks, as of september 1st, LEO's are not the only ones who can do the BG Checks anymore.
Now the technicians at DPS can run them themselves.

This is probably what is speeding up the process for everyone. Great to see it!

Well, my congrats to all of those who are seeing much more rapid approval of their licenses. Just wish I was in the group.

They received my app before some of the recent approvals, but is on a desk waiting review by one of the folks due to a "self-divulged" DWI in NJ 33 years ago. They do not even do background checks back that far, but I shared it because it said to do so and others advised me to be truthful (which I am to a fault, perhaps).

I called my State Rep yesterday, so we shall see what this is all about.

I am not minimizing my 33 year ago bad choice. I just don't understand its applicability to now - never have even had any ticket for anything since.

Oh well, just need to vent. Thanks to all for listening. Mine should be here by and by..... :totap:

I've noticed that on some of the time lines people had incomplete issues and resolved the issues and within 5 to 10 days went back to processing. I called DPS 2 times within the last 2 weeks , they tell me it takes a long time to get the app. back in the system. Does anyone think its time to start calling some one other than DPS, or should I just hang out a couple more weeks to see if any thing changes. Any input would be helpful. It seems to me that if you had any issues they just kinda put you in the trouble pile and get to ya when they feel ready.

from my understanding , your clock officially starts all over again once you provide any missing information
or fingerprint/photo re-takes .

but , from what i've seen , with most cases the clock only pauses during this time .

most people call after 90 days of waiting .

Thanks for the quick reply USA1. I was lookin at Dicion's timeline and his went back to processing after 10 days. Been almost 30 for mine. Thats my understanding also, because the app. hasnt even been sent out for the BC yet, are they just slow updating the website back to processing?

that is probable . but check it often , as the website can change at any given time through the day .
we can understand if you check it every 20 minutes .

Truth be told, I was really suprised that I did not get a rejection for my fingerprints and/or photo. On my last fingerprint, the guy or me smudged it. I asked if it needed to be redone and I was told no and that it should pass. If it didn't, come back and he would do them again. I was thinking "great"....... Put all my trust in "hope". Also, when my photo's were taken, they were placed in small holder and unknown to anyone they were on top of each other. One photo was pretty bad and could only see the top half.

Anyways, I'm glad everything was approved the first time around. Does anyone know anything about getting the PA non-res permit? I like the idea of having 5 years incase there is a long wait in 4 years for my renewal.

Just venting today... Still waiting. Online status never indicated that my fingerprints had been rejected, even though I got the big brown envelope.
Last update was a few weeks ago "waiting on FBI background check..."

Ugh.

So, fellas, should I just suck it up and wait, or should I make myself feel better by calling...someone, anyone...Who?

I haaaate waiting!

5/31 = CHL Class
6/01 = Packet Mailed
...I believe I already had my pin, because I paid DPS online...
crickets chirping...earth in orbit around sun...time passes...
7/16 = "Processing Application"
8/04 = Receive the feared "big brown envelope." New prints requested, new prints made, new prints sent back to CHL office.
8/06 = "Processing Application"
9/03 = "Processing Applicaion" Getting antsy...

I have been at processing since june 17th. I have called them 6 times. each time I have been told something different. I called today they said " waiting for back ground check" 3 days ago. I was told it was in review. I do not know what to believe at this point. This is my 3rd renewal with no issues. I am going to get my local state rep. to call Dan

They received my packet on June 11th and I went to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" yesterday. I live in Harris county, which is supposed to be the biggest "waiting" offender of all the counties. It may be that they are finally getting caught up. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that it has to do with my phone call to my State Rep. because it immediately turned to "completed" after they launched an "investigation."

I called my Rep. Tuesday and again this AM to see what was up. All I got was, " We called the DPS and they should be back to you in a few days."

They had my completed app. on June 2, and I am still in the "Processing" category. This is just frustrating as can be and I believe it is over the 33 year old DWI that I perhaps should have never shared with them on the app. Perhaps it does not always pay to be honest?? :confused5

Don't have a clue who to call next or if I should just let it go until the "few" days pass. :waiting:
