Interesting that Goines is worried about being judged unfairly but apparently not about the events that lead up to 4 other injured officers and 2 dead home owners.
But I suppose however things work out for Goines, getting shot in the face and neck is probably not something he's going to want to repeat

Needs to happen nationwide.
Very good to hear Houston is severely restricting no knock warrants.
Agreed that this needs to happen nationwide.

The restriction will be that they will require a chiefs sign-off. I believe the chiefs will be just as eager if not more so to sign off on these things as are the judges. Assolbeto will be demanding on body cameras for those delivering search warrants. What I don't understand is why they weren't required before. Seems to me that if the patrol officers are wearing them, it would be even more important for those serving warrants to be wearing them.
Local media seems to be doing a pretty good job covering this.
https://click2houston.com seems to be spearheading the effort.

I still don't understand the motive for this no knock warrant on a house that didn't have real drugs and wasn't selling black tar heroin.
Clerical error wrong house?
House was Swatted? Supposedly they got a call from a mom? Said her daughter bought drugs there?
Old high school grudge?
Bored at work needed some excitement, picked this house at random?
Their boss wanted some arrests, or the department was going to be cut?
Then we have the issue of the gun that was used to shoot the officers.
It wasn't a handgun because none were found.
A shotgun? Then why didn't they say shotgun?
Per the guy in the video drawing pictures of the house the rifles were all in the bedroom. All but the shotgun?
Pictures of holes in the outside of the house. Who made those? The police firing from outside through the walls?
Lots of questions?

Are they all going to resign or will they double down on blaming the murder victims?
Nobody is going to resign.

Interesting turn of events. I am glad the issue has their full attention and they are working to prevent a re-occurrence.

One of the biggest lies ever told.
"I am pleased they (the FBI) have opened a formal civil rights investigation," Acevedo said. "We welcome it in the spirit of transparency."

Lol I can actually believe he said that, too.

HPD is about to have a load of bricks fall on them. I read the search warrant for the lead investigators phone and the 'pattern' of his questionable cases. It appears (so far) a hand full of cops knew, or should have known the raid was bogus. The only reason the officer isn't doing a perp walk right now is because he was seriously wounded during the raid. Karma is a female dog sometimes. Art saying he welcomes the FBI doing a civil rights investigation is a direct contradiction to what he said earlier about an independent investigation. C'mon Art, did you really tell your officers, "if you lie, you die?" What does that mean anyway? A word of advice: as soon as Goines is able, put cuffs on him. If that means an arrest at the hospital so be it. An arrest doesn't mean guilt, it means The State thinks a crime has been committed. The sooner they arrest him, the sooner HPD starts to get the trust of the people back.

I doubt they made that decision of their own accord... <cough> FBI <cough>
