So how willing would the founding fathers be to put so much at risk if they knew that this is where we'd end up?????

Those people are so dense that they measuarably affect the Earth's angular velocity when they lie down.

GZ needs to sue her too while he's at it. What you have here are public figures defaming a private citizen.

"rlol"
I think that's the best insult I've heard in a long time.

One more reason that we need to become a multi-planet species.

Been thinking this myself. While I realize this is not what this means "legally", in a nutshell if the jury acquitted Zimmerman they in effect "convicted" Trayvon of a crime. Unlike most murder cases, the fact that Zimmerman killed Trayvon was not in doubt. So - unlike the OJ trial - this was not an acquittal based on "reasonable doubt" whether the accused was the killer. They knew that going in. If you kill someone, the only legitimate reasons under Florida law are excusable, justified, or accidental. The other two don't apply to the circumstances. Thus only justified fits. And the only way you can be justified killing someone is if they're committing a felony against you that places you in reasonable fear of imminent serious bodily harm or death.

Thus Zimmerman could ONLY be acquitted if Trayvon was committing a felony against him.

Trayvon was a felon.

Sharpton said Trayvon committed no crime. It’s clear from the evidence that the jury thought he did, in fact, commit the crime of assault when he punched George Zimmerman, got him on the ground and began beating him. If Zimmerman hadn’t had a gun, and had gone home with a concussion and a broken nose Trayvon would likely have been charged with assault.

I'm not sure I agree... Doesn't FL law state that one only has to reasonably believe force is necessary, regardless of whether or not it actually is? Seems like you'd only have to conclude that the jury believed Trayvon created something like a reasonable appearance of a crime (dunno how to translate that into legalese).

I disagree. If the jury doesn't know who attacked first, that's reasonable doubt right there. They are not required to convict Martin to acquit Zimmerman.

Are you asserting that there's reasonable doubt that Trayvon committed aggravated battery on Zimmerman?

I'm asserting I wasn't there and I don't know who attacked first. What are you asserting?
