1/19/08 Completed the online application process and paid by Credit Card
1/24/08 DPS Mailed my app
1/26/08 I received app at my house
3/15/08 Took the class at Reds South in Austin
3/17/08 Hand carried the paperwork to DPS (I just work 2 block from there)
***Sorry did't log when online changed to "packet received" and "processing applicaton" but it was several weeks****
5/31/08 Status Changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"

Mine was a clean app - meaning to say no past record and I didn't have to go back and submit any extra documents.

I never called DPS to check on my status either. Just watched my status online.

I believe it was on about day 75 after hand delivering the packet that the online status changed to "Application Completed - License issued or certificate active"

Today is Saturday - Guess I'll be camping out next to the mailbox today....

That makes me feel better. I hand delivered mine 7 days after aandpman. Ill keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

That wait for the mail is probably the hardest part.

We (both wife and I) Got an "issued" on the dps website.....in the mail soon....Yeah!!

Thanks to all for all of the info and support.....Now, just a mail delay and a WaleyWalk.

mailed apps = March 3
received pin = May 23
says license issued on website = May 31.......IN THE MAIL....COMING SOON!

HELL YES!!! MY CHL IS NOW ACTIVE!

I almost didnt' check it today since it's a Sunday any nothing ever happens in .gov in Sunday but I did and it shows "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active."

62 days since they opened my packet and cashed my check... looking at 67-69 days door to door (however long it takes to mail from Austin to College Station).

To be honest, I wouldn't feel any different when I recieve it as I have been carrying without the plastic...but I'll be comforted that I'll be legal now.

Now if only my dealer would call me tomorrow and say that my Form 4 has been approved for my AAC M4-2000 and I recieve an approved Form 1 for my SBR....it would be a perfect world.

I can't believe it. I think somehow when your mind finally gives up on ever getting the CHL the DPS finds out and issues the license.

You gotta keep your expectations low.

I had already resigned myself to waiting 90 days because of all the horror stories.

And then, just after after 62 days, the license got approved.

I imagine mine will just show up one day without any indication, hahah!

87 days for me.....

73 days no PIN no nothing.

I just sent an email this morning to get the status of my application, no reply as of 2:26 pm.

Feb 23 Took class

June 2 - Came home and there was a UPS package from Austin. My CHL was inside!

what??!? really? via UPS. not USPS? hmmmmm. that's weird. anyone else experience this?
