It may be "legally concealed" but it sure ain't concealed! If it was, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

That's why I carry crossdraw at about 10 o'clock, the grip fits better and doesnt "poke out" when bending over and also allows ME to keep a better eye on it.
I also have convinced myself that I am faster to draw from that position but it's probably because I have praticed drawing from cross draw the most.

Turns out he's local PD.......my wife talked to his girlfriend the other day and when my wife stated that he was printing pretty badly, she stated "Yeah, he knows....he doesn't care". Sorry, but that's not the attitude I like to hear from someone who's supposed to be setting an example. Oh, well.........

Somebody needs to tell Officer Quasimodo it's time to ring the bell. If he won't change is carry method, maybe he can just sit up straight.

He isn't obligated to carry concealed at all though. If he wishes to carry concealed in a half donkey mode what difference does it makes. Personally I would rather see him carry in wide open, but that is his and his departments business.

Yeah what example is he supposed to be setting? Why should he care?

There may be a lesson here: If this guy goes around printing like this all the time, he is not causing people to scream, run in panic, faint, or call 911.

If they were, his superiors would have told him to conceal better.

Maybe printing really is no big problem to worry about, at least wherever age_ranger lives.

I would have written something on a bit of paper and handed it to him and kept walking. If he was a fellow CHL, I'd want to help him out.

My question is more of a practical one. Why bother to conceal if you don't have to? Concealing is inconvenient and often uncomfortable compared to open carry. If he's an officer and can open carry, why conceal... or better yet, why may a half-whatever attempt at concealing?

I know I wouldn't. Concealing is a pain, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

That's news. I guess seeing off-duty officers carrying in the open all the time, I never considered that they're required to conceal. Interesting.

It is all up to the department that he works for. Some departments will let officers carry in the open when off duty and some will not. As fars as what the guidelines are for carring concealed being the same as ours with a CHL, I would say no. Again they are going to be up to the department that he works for.

His requirements aren't the same, because he would be only breaking his employers rules. If we carry unconcealed we break the law.
