There are many other restaurants that don't expect you to surrender your civil rights. Don't support prejudice!

Taco Cabana doesn't have arrest authority.
( No they can not arrest you but they can have you arrested)
They cannot have you arrested if "you didn't see the sign". They can only have you arrested if after "not seeing the sign" they tell you verbally that "CHL'ers are not allowed to carry in their business and please leave". If you do not leave, then you can be arrested.
If you leave (after receiving verbal notice, because, you "did not see the sign") then you cannot be arrested.
You are nit picking. Who cares they dont want me or my gun there so I will take my money and gun some where where they do.
what sign inside? Ive been to a couple of Taco Cabanas and never saw any "conspicuously" posted signs, I've looked and the only signs I've ever seen are the meaningless ones they put on 8.5x 11 sheets of paper. If the signs are hidden away somewhere they aren't valid.

I HAVE NOT BEEN IN THERE IN OVER A YEAR BUT WHEN i WAS IN ENNIS THERE WAS A LEGAL SIZED SIGN ON THE WALL ABOVE THE CONDIMENTS AND SMALL LETTERED SIGNS OUTSIDE NEXT TO THE DOOR. BY LAW THE SIGN MUST BE CONSPICTUAS AND NOT POSTED AT ALL DOORS.
I emailed them they told me they did not want me there with my weapon so I have not been back..

I carried past the non-compliant signs at the Bastrop TC today. I just felt like trying their tacos. I was disappointed. Taco Bell does a better job with their taco supreme, IMO.
time to change

Gun Free Zones are dumb, everybody knows the only folks carrying there are Criminals.
I believe someone said that having a CHL in the Business wouldn't have any affect on a Robbery, I believe it would, it gives everybody a Better chance of surviving, and can cause the Robber to flee while he's still alive, Criminals in Robberies don't expect someone to challege them with a Weapon. I think it changes his Plans alittle, or throws them off.
My belief is, if Managers, and Covienent Store owners carried, and these people knew how to use the Weapons, Robberies would go way down.
But Hey, if people don't want to protect themselves, take a chance, then shame on them.

My reference was to Heston's death. I'm on Chantix and it gives me weird dreams. I dreamed Heston died earlier last week, and thought it was real until this Sunday when he actually died. Strange, perhaps I should open a palm reading business.

I just visited the fine new Taco Cabana in Shadow Creek Ranch in Pearland. I found the new 30.06 sign on the door. I don't believe it is the correct sign, but I am not sure about that. Black letters, white sign. That is all. I went in to complain and got an area supervisor who just happened to be there for six stores. I told him I would not be back as long as that sign was there. I gave him my business card. I told him that I remembered the Killeen Luby's, because I lived near there. He was familiar with the story. I asked him if he was prepared to guarantee my safety in his store, since he forbid me to carry? No response. I guess all we can do is share the story of their wrong thinking. Too bad. The food is good. Makes me wonder if the robbers don't see that as an invitation.

If they ever take their sign down, I'd be happy to go by and try them out.

I have eaten there once. I thought the the food tasted like crap so I never went back. Never could figure out why anyone would call that slop "mexican" food. I guess if you throw hot sauce on anything, it could be called mexican food. Anyway, I had gone through the drive up window so I didn't know about the anti-gun stance they hold. Thanks to this forum I won't be tempted to give them a second chance.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to ever admit the anti-gun signs are adding to the risk of robbery. North East liberal minds don't follow along like that. They are more likely to think that the sign prevented anyone from getting shot during the robbery. The folks from that part of the country have a terror of guns and forget to be concerned with the fellow holding the gun.

The ones I've been to here in San Antonio only have the non-compliant too small signs on the doors. There is no larger, compliant sign located anywhere else inside the restaurant.
I got in an email battle with their attorney about two years ago. It was a fruitless effort.

What's all this with Taco Cabana? I didn't remember seeing anything but the "unlicenced carry" sign at any of the Houston Taco Cabanas I've been to. So I checked again. The TC at 610 and Shepherd and the one at Richmond and Chimney Rock are most definitely NOT posted in any way shape or form. They only have the "unlicenced carry" signs behind the counter.

Check the glass doors when you walk in. The ones here have a non-compliant (letters way too small) horizontally positioned, 8"x11" sign on the door.
