I think Sig's are very good pistols. I don't know if they are worth the "new" prices, but there are plenty of used sigs around or even the Sig Pre-Owned pistols that are much more reasonably priced. They are not really the same pistol as the Glock or M&P since they are metal alloy pistols and not light weight polymer guns. The M&P will be the slimmest and lightest weight of all three. The Sig P229 is also a DA/SA pistol with a decocker. I like that arrangement for carry, but some don't.

Glocks are good dependable pistols, but they aren't the most ergonomic these days. It depends on what fits you.
When I had my M&P, I looked at the internals of it and my Glock. They are nearly identical.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the three. It is just a matter of picking what you will like best.

The only thing I do not like about my Glock(s) is taking it apart. It is a pain in the posterior.

The Glock pistol is about the easiest, simpliest, most maintainable pistol on the market -hands down. Any person with internet access can easily learn to totally detail strip a Glock down to the last pin. And every part that might need replacing can be ordered off the net for crazy low prices.

Those reasons alone may not make the Glock the right pistol for everyone, but if takedown and maintenance are key factors in the decision the Glocks wins this one everytime

I own two of them. The only problem that I have is the initial step where you have to grip that little doohickey on both sides of the slide and push them up while pulling the slide back. I simply cannot manage it. After that, it is all gravy.

Hmmm...well, you can see from my sig, I couldn't make that choice.

I have a G19 and am a fan. I went a couple of weeks ago for a G26, then saw that the 33 in .357 Sig is the same size and price, but then thought maybe the 27 is the way to go as I already have a couple of 9mm and .40 is cheaper to shoot than .357 Sig right now. After standing there for some time arguing with myself about this they guy got me to look at the M&P 40c. I was impressed enough that I took it home instead.

Good choice! I hope you like it as much as I like mine M&P9c.

No. It is not at all the easiest. On the Sigs, you just lock the slide back, pull down the take-down lever, and take the slide off. You don't have to match up any lines, or wrestle with impossible to grip buttons on both sides of the pistol or anything like that. There are some other brands that are just as easy. The Berreta 92 is another one.

Why doesn't Glock supply the new pistols with better controls that are easier to use like what was posted above? I don't have to buy aftermarket stuff to make my other pistols easier to use. Glock has a great reputation for reliability that they have earned, but there are things about their pistols that could really be improved.

None of the above - get a good 1911.

I carry a Sig and it shoots like a dream. Might not be the same for you. Just gotta try them all out.

Will this be your a problem arises weapon? If so, I'd go for the Glock. It's proven to be rugged and parts availability would be a non-issue. FYI - I don't own a Glock...I'm a Sig and 1911 guy.
If you have other handguns for a problem arises, I agree with others about renting the different makes/models to see what feels right in your hand.
If you like the Sig, check out the CPO (factory refurbished) ones. They're cheaper and have a warranty.

try taking your Sig or Beretta completely apart.................... Every gun can be improved. I'm lefty and Sig's suck for me........controls are all wrong....I own three btw.....
