I have a beltman belt and could not be happier with it. I use to be one of those fellers who thought a Wally World belt was good enough. Boy oh boy...was I wrong!!! The main difference is that my Beltman holds the gun and pants up where they are suppose to ride. the el cheapo belt allows my pants to constantly ride down as I walk.
P.S. I just ordered one of those 5.11 clearance belts from LA police gear...thanks for that link. I just have one question....anyone know what color they are calling buckskin...LOL...it was only 16 bucks with shipping so I ordered it, but I have no idea what color that is. It was the only color they had in an XL. I hope it isn't furry looking. Being straight and all a furry belt won't work for me.

I can tell that it ain't black or brown...if that helps narrow it down a little.

Yeah....that was all I could tell. I figured for 17 bucks delivered it was worth the risk. I looked at the 5.11 web sight and they don't list buck skin as a choice. This could get real interesting.

buckskin should be similar to tan -- I googled "buckskin" and the first entry that came up included several pictures of "buckskin" horses -- I would have called them "tan"

its tan.
03Lightningrocks , nothing wrong with tan as long as you have shoes that match .
You wouldn't want to be stopped by the fashion police and be ticketed for a
fashion faux pas.

My tennis shoes match everything, so I should be alright. If it looks dumb, I suppose I can get some shoe dye and turn it black. Tan huh??? I think I would like furry better.

I bought a belt at Crossbreed when I purchased what I believe to be the best hoster on the market. The website really stressed the importance of a good belt to go with it. I also purchsed a belt from The Beltman (different color) and am very pleased with it. Both have the velcro option.

Get a beltman belt you WON'T be sorry. I had a 5.11 and it barely made it a year. My beltman is over a year old now and still very very stiff. I went with 1 1/2 on both belts. My 5.11 even had the plastic insert. I went with the horsehide on the beltman belt. Only draw back is with beltman is the wait.

Interesting thread, thanks guys I learned something ..... All this time I thought a good gun belt and buckle were to catch the rear sights on my gun so I could rack the slide one-handed, (I only have one hand, but a good drill for 2-handers in case one is busy holding a flashlight, or tied up or injured etc etc)
and now I know it's to hold my pants up too ....
