Hey Everyone,

Just thought I'd add my experience with "the process". I submitted my paperwork on 4/12 by priority mail, and it was received on 4/13. Just checked and it looks like everything is complete - final line is "Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing". I'm assuming that means it's gone to printing and should soon be shipping?

Yes, you should see a 'Mailed' in the next day or two, then you're just waiting on the United States Postal Service which means you'll have to wean yourself off of checking the DPS website! Take baby steps... you'll soon shake the habit.

Status has now shown up! All that appears to remain is background check. I wonder if it was the e-mail to DPS yesterday or it was just time, but the processing continues. :)

Mine updated today as well. Background check under review & Pending manufacturing =)

Haha yeah I am in the process of weaning myself from that habit...

2nd renewal:
4/9/11 - renewal class
4/12/11 - mailed renewal pkg
5/6/11 - background completed/manufacturing pending
5/7/11 - manufacturing
5/10/11 - Mailed

Awesome! Thanks for confirming my hopes! You also realize, of course, that you're asking the impossible. I've already broken out my tent, camp stove and freeze dried goods, and I'm setup at the mailbox. I can hold out here for weeks!!! :)

been two weeks on fingerprints and background review....on a renewal application...

My status says application review pending and pending manufature every thing else is check off as done or good.
I wonder how long it might take now.

Based on my current experience (Mailed but still waiting for plastic), it should stay in Mfg Pending for 1-2 business days, then Mfg for another 1-2 business days, then Mailed.

I've just joined this forum and have been reading forum posts and checking my status online with the DPS daily. Thought I'd provide my waiting status:

1/1/1996 to 4/15/2011...Procrastinated taking the CHL class
4/15/2001..................Registered for the CHL class
4/16/2011..................Attended CHL class in San Antonio
4/17/2011..................Passed shooting qualification. Scored 246 out of 250.
4/18/2011..................Submitted online CHL application with Texas DPS. Made fingerprint appointment
4/19/2011..................Electronic fingerprints taken. Mailed paper documents with Delivery Confirmationto to DPS
4/20/2011..................USPS confirms delivery of documents to Texas DPS
4/27/2011..................Fingerprints rejected by FBI due to unreadable. Rescheduled fingerprinting with L1.
4/28/2011..................Second set of electronic fingerprints taken by L1 and submitted to DPS.

Now it's wait... check online status.....wait five more minutes.....check online status.....wait some more....

I'll update my waiting status when DPS provides me with updates.
