It's much less complicated to not own one and keep temptation at bay.
I have been thinking about this comment for a week or so. It is true. I never had a real problem concealing my 9mm, but after my son got his Kahr P380, I just had to have one. I don't feel the least bit of confidence in this weapon as a good self defense caliber. Just as Excaliber posted, I occasionally throw this thing in my pocket out of pure laziness. It is typically those times when I need to run a quick errand and I just don't feel like holstering up. It would not take me 2 extra minutes to put a holster with my PM9 on my waist but the temptation of throwing that mouse gun in my pocket is just too strong.
And I'm quite the opposite. I own a wide variety of hand guns. I have holsters to conceal several of them, but since getting my King Tuk holster have only carried my Kahr P40. I own .32's, .380's, .38's, .357's, 9mm's, and 40's. And while I feel my.380 round of choice is adequite and I'm very confident in my reliability and accuracy of my .380's I carry what's most comfortable for me. Well let me clarify that... What's most comfortable to wear. I'd carry my S&W Model 19 if it were easier to conceal and I wasn't concearned with sweating on it in this hot Texas weather. That has to be my favorite to shoot by far.

Full size double stack 9mm for me. Easy enough with a crossbreed holster in almost any outfit. I prefer to carry one gun for self defense. Although that gun has changed once, I don't like going back and forth to avoid confusion between functions of the pistols if I ever drew it in self defense. I do some IDPA shooting as well with the pistol so I am extremely comfortable with it. Something I am not willing to give up at the moment.

LOL... I didn't mean to get the whole mouse gun debate going. I was just agreeing with Excaliber that having a mouse gun will inevitably lead to one grabbing it due to ease of carry.

To answer speedsix... it is not accuracy that I worry about. I am very proficient with my mouse gun as I am with all my carry weapons. My concern has to do with the size of the hole it makes and the amount of penetration of the round. I have no intention of entering a "five gun" competition with it but at self defense ranges, accuracy and follow up is not an issue.

How are you the opposite of me? You said exactly what I said. You just held your lips different as you said it. :biggrinjester:

...many who carry "mouseguns" use for their argument that accuracy is vastly important...and "a hit beats a miss"...truly enough...if you are proficient with the .380 and accuracy is not a problem, then why would you say "I don't feel the least bit of confidence in this weapon as a good self-defense caliber"??? and more importantly to your safety...why would you opt to carry a gun that you feel this way about???

I'm the opposite as I don't feel the temptation to grab a smaller gun because it's there. I'll holster up before I pocket carry. I guess if I were in PJ's that wouldn't hold up a holster I might put the .380 in my pocket to go to the front yard to check out a noise. But more than likely if I felt the the need to check something out in my front yard I wouldn't worry about the PJ's or concealing so I'd take either the 40 or the .357

Didn't mean to offend anybody with the comment. I just felt that my thought process on a pocket gun was the opposite because I didn't feel the temptation to carry something smaller just because it was there. I went through several holsters before I found one that I was 100% happy with. If I wasn't so happy with my set up though, I might do the same. Again, sorry to offend anybody if I did.

...why is it that when you question my posts, it's just clarifying or asking a question...when I question yours...it's trying to stir up trouble...if you're having trouble playing, you might want to ignore my posts, and I'll do the same with yours...no sense in having you get all upset...

...that was my point to you exactly...you may have the last word and I WILL ignore your posts from now on so that you don't get upset...maybe you're just having a bad day...the idea of this forum is a civil exchange of different ideas...there is no double standard...why question others if you don't want to be questioned yourself???

Quoting the famous Jeff Cooper:
As we used to teach in the spook business, carry a 25 if it makes you feel good, but do not ever load it. If you load it you may shoot it. If you shoot it you may hit somebody, and if you hit somebody - and he finds out about it - he may be very angry with you.
