My water heater went out last month and I was able to wait three days before having to replace it because I could shower in the evening without it being cold water

I put solar screens on the house in August 2009 and replaced both of my AC units last year in April with 16 SEER systems (previous were 10 SEER and poorly installed/matched.) Even with the high heat last month here I only used about 2600 Kwh vs cooler summers in 2008 & 2009 when I was seeing about 4000 Kwh usage. Both of these changes made a HUGE difference.
