There are supposedly 180 people in the US named Jared King. And, this guy was transfered to Fort Meade, MD last year, so doubt it would be the same one. A Google search with your name will probably end up with something on someone that is totally unrelated to you.
An article indicated he had physical challenges most of his life per his mother. Doubt he'd be in the USAF.

If only some poor souls realized that in all likelihood, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Sad tragedy.

Why would you go to a gun range to commit suicide? That doesn't make any sense to me. Then neither does suicide. Sad....

There have been many suicides done at ranges. Google "Suicides at shooting ranges" and you will see news reports on cases all over the country. Often, the manner of staging the suicide tries to say something. ie, knew a family who's son hung himself naked from a tree outside her kitchen window. First thing she would always do would be open thos blinds. He was obviously saying "Look what you did" or "Look at what you made me do." What the ones at ranges would be is odd... they could just as easily do it in the woods, car, house.... so wanting people to see... but what and why? :headscratch

I've read of a number of cases where people went to a range, rented a handgun, and shot themselves with the rental.

I know of one range that has had three such suicides in the last 3 years. They changed their policy so that they will only rent a handgun to someone who also brings at least one of their own handguns.
