Ridiculous.

How far do you think you would get if a black man or a Jew showed up at the local restaurant and you charged him $2000 for a hamburger?

It is against the law.

Actually since he did not make comments against any single individual race religion or political party and seems prejudiced about all of them he is not descriminating.
Hope he keeps his license I may go there for renewal.

I thought the part about Muslims not being welcome was pretty specific.

Depends on how close you would want to call close, there are many other CHL instructors within the vicinity.

Even if it didn't violate Federal law, it looks like Texas DPS may still revoke his license.

If he is an instructor in good standing and has had no complaints by an individual who has either taken or tried to take his class...dollar to a donuts says they will either (1) Remind him that he cannot discriminate on those basis (2) He will say he meant radicalized Islamists. (3) Say it was a poor judgement joke.

I am not an instructor yet (paperwork is filed, waiting for class) but my understanding is that there is a process of complaint-settle/non-settle/verdict/appeals/final decision. My understanding is not that there is immediate revoking, though it might depend upon how grievous the alleged infraction may be. This was verbal, no one was actually denied... my bet is a reminder letter and dropped, he has free nationwide publicity and his class size swells.

Maybe those on here who are instructors can tell us the process for dealing with complaints.

DPS announced they were investigating for several days ago so I think that's a safe bet.

That doesn't contradict anything I was pointing out. I am saying that my understanding is that there is a process rather than an immediate yanking of certs.

I don’t think this thread is going in a good direction.

I would not want someone to come to this site for the first time and see people trying to figure out how to dance around the laws against discrimination.

I have been a member long enough to know that people who post here are better than that. :tiphat:

Looks like Mr Keller will have to ride the ride . He needs to be more cautious now. His license can be revoke by the State to set an example to others, that is, lay aside your personal politics of the day .

Yeah but he didn't say which of the 73 sects he was talking about. Maybe he meant the Wahabbis. Never heard of the Suffi's hurting anyone. Just sayin...

I need to correct my statement which was made in too much haste. There are a lot of good muslim sects attended by people that came to this country for the same reason many people come to be free. Its only the agitated that we see in the media. Many of the harmless try to maintain a low profile due to the prejudices against them and they certainly deserve the right to protect themselves.
