Yep, that was my original point as well. But we'll see. Criminal idiots will talk.

The original story made it sound much different than it actually occurred. I'm leaving my original comment up because I'm not trying to hide the fact that I messed up. This thing wasn't some "domestic squabble" that went bad or anything of the sort, which is what I believed it to be initially; it was a full-on unprovoked assault, murder, and kidnapping. I'm relieved to hear the baby is okay and I'm glad they've made arrests in this one. Once again, my apologies for jumping the gun.

Me too.
This is one instance where a parent, regardless of how well heeled, would be more defenseless than when loading the trunk of your car with groceries and stuff.

Report this morning is they caught the woman. She is a Registerd Nurse with three children of her own. She apparently called a friend someone after the shooting and told her that the plans she had for adopting a new baby were moving forward.

I just feel so bad for the victim and her family. Here was a mom that was out doing what she was suppose to be doing and it cost her her life. I hope that justice is swift and harsh for the evil doers that committed this horrible crime.

Tragic. Thankfully the baby is safe.
I'm looking forward to hearing supportive comments from Mr Obama, Mr. Sharpton and Mr. Jackson.
I'm sure if Mr. Obama had an infant son, he would look just like Keegan Schuchardt.

Women with children or a baby in this case, are so vulnerable.

I'm wondering if the hospital was 30.06 posted.
If so, and the victim had been a CHL who would have otherwise been carrying, then I would put the hospital partially to blame.

How many of us think of our own wives, girlfriends, daughters when this kind of sick crime occurs. It is just proof that one never can feel completely safe. This thing just makes me just feel sick!

The first thing I thought of was my wife and the new baby girl we'll welcome into the world in just 3 short months!

It was a mother of 3 with the other two young children at home with grandma babysitting. One was a 3 year-old son, don't know the age of the other.
The baby is now at home with the husband.
It is being reported this was entirely random. The mother was "in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Talk about every husband's nightmare scenario!
Those poor children will be affected by this forever.
