Here is a link to a Guns America review dated June 24. They are reporting it is now shipping to dealers. I had heard Springfield had delayed the shipping for some reason. I want one and I want a .9mm too when it comes out. Can't have too many.

I love the XD line of pistols. Between me and the wife we have 2 xd9's and a xd40 all in sub-compact. I have been looking high and low for the new xds but no luck here in san angelo.

As a side note, Goodfellow AFB allows private gun ownership on base as long as it is registered with the Security Police. This gives them a heads up in case they ever have to respond to the house. And Dyess AFB sells guns also. This is great for us military guys. You sure save alot on taxes on a 600-800$ firearm

They definitely sold them on MCAS Yuma AZ. I bought my first pistol there at the Exchange. A XD .45 back in the Summer of '05 maybe. I remember paying $515 OTD. I'm pretty sure you could have them in base housing too. I lived in the barracks and kept them (shotgun, lever gun and XD) at a buddy's house.

I love mine. The store called me on Wednesday. They could only hold it for a day before it had to go on the shelf. I thought I was about to be mugged when the guy brought it out to the counter. About a dozen employees and other customers swarmed around to get a look. It was even suggested that we arrange a protection detail for me to get back to my car when all was said and done.

It shoots a bit to the left for me right now, but I think it's just me. I'm never quite accurate with a gun for a while after I get it. That said, I have absolutely no regrets about buying it. Going to the range on July 4th morning with a friend, getting the call that the XDs was in, buying it, then going back to the range that afternoon to break it in. It was a great way to spend Independence Day.

I'll stick with my G30SF. Plus, I found out it does qualify as a BUG for IDPA. I just can't load more than 5 rounds in it for a match, or something like that.

I think I'll pass on the XDs, as well, after renting one at the range yesterday. Too small for my paw, and after about 20 rounds, my hand stung something awful (ok, I'm a woos.. I admit it! But, I didn't get that same feeling after going through 100 rounds with the XD(M) 3.8" .45 I also rented). And since the XDs is almost exactly the same size as my PPS with a 6-round magazine, I also was felling that pinky flapping in the wind, instead of wrapped around the grip.

Maybe it depended on the rules for the stage, but there were a couple other guys that used semi-autos and I don't think there was any discussion about not having a round in the chamber to begin the stage with the BUG.

Okay. The G30 meets the requirements for a BUG, but I think it can only be loaded to whatever the stage dictates or the maximum of any revolver being used in that stage. Having a round in the chamber to begin a stage in IDPA is acceptable.

Shot my XD-S for the first time today. Put 250 rounds through it. It beat up my hand a bit, but it's not really designed to be a range queen. However, for a little gun that is easily concealed and packs a hell of a punch, it fits the ticket for me perfectly. A few more hundred to really break it in, and I'm a happy camper.

I have had mine for 3 weeks now, I've put about 600 rounds through it. I've had 3 failure to feeds, but other than that no problem. I also bought the 7 round mags from Springfield which give you a full size grip and with my whitehat IWB holster it doesn't print at all with a normal t-shirt. Recoil is not bad, my only issue is the red front optic is hard for me to see in low light, but that is more an issue of my old eyes.

I found mine at AJC in Clute south of Houston by Surfside. They had a stand at the GRB gun show and were sold out but said they had more at the Clute shop so I drove down and got mine. Recoil is not bad overall, I'm very happy with mine and have put the XD-40 sub compact in the safe

I'm planning to pick one up this week. Looking forward to it!

On a sad note, I'll be losing my normal carry, my XD45 service model. Wife is claiming it to replace her XD9 for daily carry! Her 9 will get relegated to desk drawer weapon.
