So, I just checked two prices......

One is the 420 round cans of American Eagle M855 62 grain penetrators for $184.95 at Cabela's, and the other is the 500 round box of the same cartridge, loose packed, from AmmunitionToGo.com, for $214.95. The former turns out to be $.4405/round, the latter is $.4299/round....cheaper. But, when you figure in the price of freight, that better price goes up to $.4585/round. Now, I'm going to be near Cabela's tomorrow, and it won't be that big of a deal to drop by there and pick up a 420 round can......or two.

So even if you can get a better price per round, it doesn't always work out for the best when you figure in the freight. Just something to think about.

Forgot taxes at Cabela's, puts you at $.4762/round.

I didn't see that deal.. I'll have to look again.
I'm a little confused. Wouldn't 400 rounds at 39.99/100 actually be $160?
That is basically the same price as 420 rounds of the lake city 5.56 that comes with the ammo can.
Yes but it also depends on what you need the ammo for? I'd prefer the 55gr for SD defense purposes

Good, you're in luck. Walmart also carries lake city 55gr boat tail 420 rounds in an ammo can for $159 + tax.

I've havn't seen the 55gr in a can at Wally World. Granted the one near my house hasn't had the 62gr for about 6 months
