I like pappadeaux for a dinner and rockfish for quick bite.
I like Thai food too, and Noodle waves comes to my mind all the time.
As for Italian, I would pick Patrizo and Macaroni's Grill and for a quick bite I would select Olive Garden.
For Lebanese and Syrian Food, my mom, my wife, my mother in law are the best

My very favorite chain restaurant is no more: Steak and Ale.
(The food was great and the atmosphere generally quiet enough to actually hold a conversation with others at your table!)
My favorite non-chain restaurants are hole-in-the-wall Mexican Restaurants!
I second that! They are always the best. There is one in Athens I frequent often. At least once a week.

RibCrib, new in our area only 50 miles away and worth the drive. What not to like about baby back ribs and fried shrimp or baby back ribs and fried catfish combos. Then there is the half pound Pigman sandwich made with brisket, pulled pork and sausage. Gonna work my way thru the whole menu sooner or later.

Chili's where I used to reside in NJ put Alfredo sauce on my chicken-fried steak. Went back the next week, they did it again. I never ate CFS in Jersey again. But then again, I think I was the only person EVER in NJ to order a chicken-fried steak anyway.

I'm sure they had no clue about bacon grease and flour gravy.

I'm coming over next time I'm up in DFW.
I love Middle Eastern food. I haven't tasted a single thing I didn't like. Tabouleh, Fattoush, Iskender, Dolma, Cherry Kebab...man, I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Years ago I met a guy from "the south side of" Chicago. He had just moved here. The guy liked to fish, lived a couple trailer houses down from me, so being the redneck that I am, I take the guy fishin. We get some lunch after a morning on the water. He orders chicken fried steak. Lunch arrives. He cuts into it and exclaims in disgust... "What is this? I ordered chicken!". I'm amazed at this and say " no, you ordered chicken fried steak". The guy thought it was chicken formed into a steak shaped patty! He had never heard of such a thing before.
I get the biggest kick out of Yankees!

they are a breed apart! I can't believe we let them whip us in the civil war!

Maybe they were motivated because they didn't want to eat chicken fried steak for the rest of their lives
But it's easy to find the "best" food - really.
Just go to any state and ask a native of that state, "which state has the best food?' The answer will likely be, "this one."
Go to any country and ask a native of that county, "which country has the best food? The answer will likely be, "this one."
Amazing, ain't it

Hahaha... Yep... No matter where you are, they think they have the best food. My SIL and daughter were in New York City. I tried to talk them out of going. She ignores me now that she is 33 as much as when she was 14...

. Anyway... They were going on today about how they ate the best pizza they ever had in some joint that sold it by the slice. She said they didn't have seats in the place. You either walked away with it or stood at a table. Weird!!
I was in New Jersey a few years back doing a racing trip. We wanted Mexican food. I kid you not, they had no Mexican food places... Anywhere. We can't go a block in Texas without tripping over Mexican food.
In Memphis my daughter ordered corn tortillas with her breakfast at IHOP. They had no idea what she was talking about. The waiter asked her if she wanted corn on her tortillas. We cracked up laughing. She had to eat flour.
Sorry... Got off topic.
