As far as the signage, that's fairly common with most gun shops that deal is used or trade-ins. Most folks prefer to handle unloaded firearms when evaluating/inspecting them. As a gun store, you'd have to assume that they'd be well versed in the state's firearms laws & if they were truly trying to exclude chl, they would post a 30.06.
Agreed. Also, the sign on the door specifically says that CHL holders are exempt from this request as long as they keep their firearms concealed.
I was in there yesterday. I was approached numerous times by at least a half-dozen different employees - and every one was friendly and professional. The two that I spent time talking two were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the pistols that they were talking about...and I personally observed them providing what I thought was simple, logical, good advice on firearms purchases to some other customers who had questions. I also saw that the manager was out on the floor, checking with customers to make sure that they were being helped.
I ended up walking out with a H&K P30LS....for less than MSRP, and without having to fight to get a fair price.
I won't hesitate to go back again...once my wallet is back to feeling a little thicker.

You run a gun store. Then have random people come in with loaded runs and pull them out saying they can't get it to work. Oh yeah, they think it's unloaded. And they're waving the muzzle everywhere. Or get shipments with "unloaded" rifles that just happen to have ammo _in the chamber_.
I guarantee you will see something similar on my storefront if ever open one (although it will be more like, "Do not handle your personal weapons while in the store without approval from an employee." And that's probably what Collectors Firearms means as well).

So I've had really good and really average experiences here. I've decided that if I really want something I find someone that's helpful and doesn't have an attitude. If they do, I just walk and come back another time. Doing this I picked up a used Browning .22 for only $145. The mags needed new springs and its shot like a dream since. I've also picked up extra mags for my wife's Kahr for about $10 under MSRP. New guns are still stuck on stupid compared to Buds or other online suppliers, but that problem is endemic to all Houston gun shops.

I've found them generally high priced. They will haggle on used guns.
They have an impressive stock of used guns and collectibles. Sort of like a museum with guns for sale.

disagree. Both Defcon on memorial near dairy ashford and AGR out in cypress have been very good on pricing.
