I didn't see anyone calling for no trial. He would get a civil trial even as an Enemy Combatant, and that declaration does not strip him of due process, at least according to the SCOTUS (8-1).

Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, 542 U.S. 507 (2004), is a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court recognized the power of the government to detain enemy combatants, including U.S. citizens, but ruled that detainees who are U.S. citizens must have the rights of due process, and the ability to challenge their enemy combatant status before an impartial authority.

Those jokers aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, but they're not totally stupid either. They may have figured out a great Trojan Horse. Using our own rule book, they can work their way into our beautiful country, and on paper be a citizen. But if you don't have it in your heart, you're just fartin' in the wind. Everyone knows that most of them hate our guts. They will stoop to the lowest of lows to weasle in here and kill as many of us as they can. I love our country, but I don't ever remember things being as crappy as they are right now. I don't follow a god that teaches you to kill everyone that won't switch to your way of thinking. Those people have patience, as long as they get to wreak havoc on us. They know that if they become citizens, they will be afforded our rights, and waste our taxpayer money, dragging their crap through our court systems. I try to live a Christian life, but I have to call a spade a spade. Sorry to get so wound up, just had to vent a little.

Just the same way. Timothy McVeigh proved he didn't want to be a citizen, so grant him his wish, after conviction, and Hassan is worse, HE should be declared an enemy combatant, a saboteur, and an enemy agent and stood against a wall and shot, upon conviction.

That seems to be a rather simplistic response. Shouldn't we do the exact same things to every mass-murderer, serial-killer/rapist in the USA? Or do we just tailor our justice towards certain categories of 'bad-guys'?
